Updated sync 3.4 build 20021 to new build version fail

My car is Mondeo MKV hybrid, and Sync 3 version is 3.4 build 20021 NON-NAV, the version is update from 3.0 via reformat mode.
Now I try to update Sync 3 to build 20282, and it stuck at [“Updating system software”], I reference Sync 3 stuck at “Updating system software” to delete Gracenotes, the free space is larger than 1.5 GB as below

I created USB with VOICE and APPS, but it still stuck at [“Updating system software”]. So I created USB with APPS only and I got the MEM-ERR03 error(it means the Error is MEM_NOSPACE_TO_EXTRACT)

Then I try to use reformat mode with Gracenotes, Voice and APPS, but I got PKG_ERR04 , it means the Error is PKG_REVOKED (Package has been blacklisted) at beginning.

So I give up and try to re-install Gracenotes via autoinstall mode, I also got MEM-ERR03 error

How can I do to update it to 20282? Should I try to ‘delete’ the Voice files to increase free space ? I’m afraid I won’t be able to reinstall Voice if I delete it. Or should I try to replace 1U5T-14G386-CB with 1U5T-14G386-BB in reformat mode?

Your best bet is to do the reformat route once again. You likely got a package revoked error because the Syn3Updater app wasn’t configured correctly.

You need to downgrade to 3.3 before you can use the reformat tool so the app make sure that your current version is listed as 3.4.20021 and select 3.3.19052. Once you are on 3.3.19052 you can then select 3.4.20282 via reformat.

Is the content correct? (There are two lines “APPS=4U5T-14G381-AN_1552583626000.TAR.GZ” in reformat.lst, should I delete one of them?)

And I found that the reformat tool is “1u5t-14g386-cb”, I used it in reformat mode before but got PKG_ERR04. Is there no problem in downgrade mode?

Yes you’ll want to remove the duplicate apps from the reformat.lst however you would be reformatting to 3.3 the way that it is set up.

You’ll want to reformat to 3.4.20282 instead. My suggestion is downgrade to 3.3 and then create a new USB that goes directly to reformat with 3.4.20282.

Are you doing this manually or through the app?

Ford blocked the reformat tool in 3.4.19274 and higher but it works on anything below that so that is why you need to downgrade first.

No, it does not work.
That’s why it’s called downgrade, because first you downgrade to a version that still supports the reformat tool, that’s why you downgrade.
Once downgraded, reformat is used without issues.

Read this tutorial for reference if you have not yet…manually downgrade the unit to 3.3.19052 and reformat from there.

After reading the tutorial, one question about downgrade. Just install the APP software package to complete the downgrade, such as the following example, or need to downgrade Voice and GRACENOTES packages?
