Updating a 4D-Tech Upgraded 2013 F150

I have a 2013 F150 that I upgraded from Sync 1 to Sync 3.4 with Navigation about 3 years ago through a company called 4D-Tech out of New York. Before I performed the update I wanted to make sure it was not a MY20 APIM. I tried to use the APIM detection tool but was unsuccessful in making that determination. I have tried to contact 4D-Tech to ask them but have not been able to talk to a Tech yet. Would it be possible that they used a MY20 APIM on my upgraded Sync system? I do NOT want to Brick the APIM. Thank you in advance for any help.

SYNC Region: NA

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: Unknown

Install Type: Retrofit

Old SYNC Version: 3.4.22110

New SYNC Version: 3.4.22110

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
None

Update Method: CyanLabs Syn3 Updater

Syn3 Updater Version: 2.13.3.0

Syn3 Updater Documentation Read: yes

Syn3 Updater Log File

None

It is more than likely an older APIM, like MY17 thru 18.
You could upgrade the Sync app only to the latest version, 3.4.23188 and then run the Interrogator Utility. Version 22110 is a buggy one. Use AUTOINSTALL, not reformat.

I finally was able to confirm with 4D-tech it is not a my20 or newer APIM.

Thanks for all the help. I updated the system this afternoon.

It used the downgrade method of updating, which had me a little scared after the first 2 segments of the update. Before it went into the typical update screen with the alternating ford and mustang screen, it reverted back to Sync 3.3… At that point I was a little nervous. But it went through the whole updating process after that and now everything is great and up to date.

Don’t worry, 4D-Tech uses the Cyan software to update their modules also.
