Upgrade to SYNC 3.4 from 3.0 and now has no GPS lock

Upgraded to SYNC 3.4.23188 and now I have no GPS lock. I drove around plenty, and also did a master reset. GPS worked fine before update. Also tried to go back to 3.3.19052 to see if GPS came back. It did not.

I did try to locate satellites and looked at signal strength as well. No satellites on the radar.

I downloaded the original APIM and it shows as an AB file. What are the next steps for me to get this into my truck? Do I need to use forscan?

Yes, you need to use forscan. Once running you can open the asbuild settings for the APIM (left side gear icon, navigate to APIM AS-BUILD and click on it) then click load factory asbuild at the bottom. It will then open a prompt where you navigate to the factory as build file you downloaded and select it. It will automatically choose the files that belong to the APIM, then click “write all” and it will change all lines back to what they were when the vehicle left the factory (provided there were changes to make). The names of all this might be a bit off, just going off of memory best I can. Should be close enough to get you through it though. Hope this helps. P.S. Click the save all button at the bottom first and save the current config, just incase something goes wrong you have the current file to revert back to. This is always a good practice before writing any new data to modules.

Yes, under the AsBuilt config, at the bottom you should have a button to load an AsBuilt file. Save what’s in there and then give that a shot.

Yes. Low miled truck that I’ve owned for 3 years. Appears all original and have no reason to believe otherwise. GPS worked fine before the update.

A 2017 F250 is a CGEA 1.2 vehicle, not CGEA 1.3. The setting you have for the Clock Master is for the BCM instead of the APIM. You should probably have a value of 2A21. Look in the AB file you downloaded with a text editor and see if the value is 2A or 21.

So you’re saying to switch the 2A to 21 and see if that fixes it? I did try the pinpoint test. I’m stuck on the voltage at the GPS output. I tried to test it with a multimeter and appears to not have sufficient power. Only showing 11-12 MV if I’m hopefully testing it correctly per the instructions.

Any other ideas or am I SOL? I see many other previous posters that’s had the same issue. I see that some went back to a 3.3 version and their GPS came back. I already tried that before making this post to no avail, but I could try it again.
