Upgraded from 3.0 build 23219 to 3.4.23188 and no android auto. How to fix?

Hi, I upgraded my 2018 ford Smax as in the subject and now I lost Andorid Auto. There are no relative options in the carstereo settings, as there were before.
I did everything as in the guide, even the master reset.
How could I fix it? I have no navigator, so I really need it.
Thanks for Your help.

Try pulling the battery cable for 35 minutes to force a full cold boot of all the modules.
Go into the general settings and verify that AA auto start is enabled, then try a known good phone cable (eg your pc/laptop sees your phone when you plug it in and you can see files on the phone).

Thanx, I’ll try, but as I said, there’s no android auto menu or option in the settings

am I wrong in thinking the settings were moved in 3.4? are you looking in the right place? also make sure you have a phone connected

The icon won’t appear until a successful connection is made. So delete everything related to Sync3 on the phone and android auto and try again.

All right! I solved it.

Thank you all, guys. It was the cable. Oddly the cable which worked with Sync 3.0 doesn’t work with 3.4.

And yes, android auto settings appeared once the connection was established.

Thanks again!

Uh… that’s really odd… A cable is a cable, right?..
So, currently it’s working but with another cable… out of curiosity, have you tried the old cable after you got it working with the other cable?..

Yeah. I tried with a oneplus superdart cable and it worked. After that I tried the old cable and it didn’t. So i picked up some other new cables from my backpack and they worked fine. Then again the old one, unsuccessfully.

Not so bad. I purchased two cables from amazon in order to leave them in the car.

Thanks again!

Well, there’s always a first time… I do not recall any other user with that ¿problem?..
But hey!, if it works, it works!.
Enjoy it.

Personal guess is that the cable was weak and when it was removed for the update one of the data wires broke

First of all let me say that I’m really glad for finding this community. 'nuff said.

That said, I thought about It. It could have been the cable, as a matter of fact used for a long time now, and in fact I had some (rare) connection issues in the past.

Or, my Guess, It could be the USB integrated hub. I bought and used for a Little time 2 magnetic cables, which I soon found not so valid. I fear that they may have ruined the hub, as well as one of my old phones, which suddenly had some issues.

From that moment on I can connect just 1 USB port for AA. Not the same every time, but more than once I had to switch to the other Port in order to start AA.

Plus, today I tried the cable for PC connecting and they’re working.

Based off of what you just said I’d lean towards needing a new USB media hub.
