I have a 2016 escape. I used the auto installer. it seemed to update ok. I received no errors. things seem to be working except navigation. nothing happens when the nav button is clicked. if go to home, the nave screen just has a spinning circle.

Did you do a master reset after the upload to the car?

It’s on your USB drive you used to update the system…

no, I must have missed that in the instructions I was trying to follow. I need to do that?

thought I had done something so I was going to download the maps and reformatted the drive before I thought to look here.

You should always perform a Master Reset after an upgrade. This clears extra cache data files and you will need to pair your phones again. Make sure you delete the existing Sync BT connection on your phone before you pair it again.

this seems to have fixed the navigation issue. it is now working. now, when I start car, I get the message that USB devices not allowed or something like that. nothing is pkugged into any slot. I will look up if reported on site.

You probably have an older USB hub and it is telling you that it needs to be upgraded. Pretty common in 2016 Fords. This is needed for Carplay.
