US APIM for EU Sync 1.1 conversion

Hi all! Long time lurker, new poster.

I am converting my EU spec Fiesta ST Sync 1.1 to Sync 3. I have all the necessary hardware and harness required. I will be keeping the stock ACM so the region should be fine for that, especially for frequency on the radio.

For the APIM however I have bought a US spec non-Nav one. I realise this is a mistake and should have bought an EU mk8 Fiesta one, however it’s too late now unless there’s absolutely no other way.

I am aware CyanLabs do not support region change, however my question is do I even need to change region? It’s a non-nav APIM and once everything such as Radio and AA works, I’m happy.

I will be using a US Fiesta ST ab-file and making any required changes accordingly.

The final question then is, IF I do have to change the region on the APIM, I will do so on forscan and also will reformat SYNC 3 with EU version, does it matter which I do first? If so what’s the correct order? Thank you in advance for your help! -David

You will need to change the region for language support for the menus, at least. You can do it either way, but if you are not proficient in English menus it would be best to do it first.

I’m based in Ireland, so I’m fine with English. Any other reason to change region?

See how it works. The only other reasons would be mph/kph or settings like that.

Thanks! I’ll see how it works without changing region as that’s least likely to upset anything. The only reason I can think of changing it is just so the APIM, ACM and IPC are all set to the same region and work together. I’ll report back
