Hello, I’m new to this forum so sorry if my question has been answered and I can’t find the answer. I just purchased a 2016 Ford Mustang GT and the current Sync version is 1.0 and build is 15139. Original owner never updated. I downloaded the current update from Ford Sync website, but all I get is a message saying USB recognized and then nothing. Reading various forums, looks like I need to update to 2.2 first. I loaded the Sync updater from this site, and finding that the 2.2 update isn’t an option. When I tried to put the most current version on my USB, it says not enough memory. It’s a Cruzer Glide 64mb exFat formatted. I did find a thread here that had a link to download a file, HN1T-14G381-SA_64817.tar.gz. I’m not sure if this is all I need to just update to 2.2? My Mustang does have NAV. I have the updated USB hub replaced and just want the Apple Carplay. I understand I could always update later assuming if I wanted in steps, but thinking first simple 2.2 update is best first step to make an update successful. I’m computer literate, but not a tech wiz and want this to be simple. Can anyone advise how I can just get the file for the 2.2 update for NAV that I can click on, load on a USB stick, plug in to my car and be done easily like on the Ford site? Hope this all makes sense. Again, sorry if answers are here and I’m not putting it all together, but I don’t want to crash my system, am freaked out I will do this and just think if I do the 2.2 update simply, that is the best course. Again, sorry if I’m not asking things right. I don’t even know if I’m asking my question the correct way to get an answer on this site! Thanks

New SYNC Version: 1.0.15139
Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
Nothing yet and I haven’t tried install. Ford download does nothing and all system says is USB recognized or something to that effect.
Syn3updater only works for 3.4s and a single 3.3… so if you want 2.2 you will need to install that manually.
Before moving forward, create and run an interrogator log against the unit to see if something is generated… Since it’s such an old build, this may not work but it does not hurt to try.
Nothing plugged into any ports and bluetooth off. Also did complete system reset. And I did buy and install the new USB module, but it won’t have any effect until I can get the 2.2 version installed unfortunately. Thanks
O.K. I’ve seen the interrogator log mentioned but no idea what that is, but I will follow link and see if I can get one generated if that helps. Thank you.
I haven’t created the interrogator log yet as I haven’t had the time to do so, but I plan on doing this weekend. I’m kind of at a point where the sounds so complicated and reading online the risk of something going horribly wrong in my system not working that I’m, really considering just leaving it as it is with the original version and not updating at all. I thought I could just upload the 2.2 update to USB and at least get it to that spot first so as to not take so much memory and overload the system but doesn’t sound like it’s that easy. Several people sounds like they’ve uploaded all of the updates from version one to current with no issues, but for me Just says I don’t have enough memory on my stick and I don’t know that I want to try to push that.
