I have a 2013 Ford Edge Limited AWD 3.5L TI-VCT and upgraded from Sync 2 to Sync 3.4 and I am having a few minor upgrade issues. I have the icons for the heated seats and steering wheel, Ambient Lighting, Rear Defrost, but they do not activate and just click off rapidly. Also, I have the high gloss climate control trim and the Sound and Source buttons do not function.
SYNC Region: NA

Old SYNC Version: 2.0
New SYNC Version: 3.4
Odds are you have an AB problem. If your using your old Sync 2 AB than it is not the same for Sync 3. Post your current APIM AB here.
Thank you for the response Bill. I have not messed with the AS BUILT. I did enable my OEM factory options using the APIM Module Configuration though.
Lets see how these work. Make sure to save your AB for the APIM module before you make any adjustments.
First you need to change this bit from a 9 to a 1. You have it set for DAB and we dont have that in NA.
7D0-01-01: xxxx-xxx*-xxxx
The HSW setting is fine but try changing the Heated seat AB setting from a 7 to a 5 and see if that works.
7D0-01-01: xxxx-xxxx-x*xx
Change this one from a 2 to an “A”
7D0-01-02: xxxx-xxxx-x*xx
Chang the RD option from 1 to a 0.
7D0-02-02: xxx*-xxxx-xxxx
These should all be zero’s except the last 2 bit’s in each line.

7D0-01-01: xxxx-xxx1-xxxx — Changes DAB
7D0-01-01: xxxx-xxxx-x5xx — Heated Steering Wheel
DE00/7D0-01-02: xxxx-xxxx-xAxx — Not Sure what changes with this
DE01/7D0-02-02: xxx0-xxxx-xxxx — RD?
7D0-08-01 0040-0000-00A1 — Not Sure what changes with this
7D0-08-01 0000-0000-0059 — Not Sure what changes with this
Alright, I believe this is what you are suggesting. I will save the current settings and report back. Thank you!

The type of heated seat
There is a database for Sync 3 if you were unaware.
Sync 3 APIM Database - CyanLabs
Thank you for this Bill. It is my first day going into these settings and figuring out what it all means. I have never done this before. I Saw the Database earlier today, but I had no idea what I was looking at and it all was a bit confusing. Now that you gave me some direction as to what these values mean from your previous post, I understand what this all means.
After looking at this and seeing what you suggested, I believe the heated steering wheel should be DE00/7D0-01-01: xxxx-xxxx-x*xx … * should = 7. The seats are now heating, but can only be adjusted to 1 or 2 of the three levels. The HSW is still not working. The on-screen button now turns on, but the steering wheel does not get warm.

Forscan shows an HSWM on your list of modules right?
Is this where I would find it if I was connected to my vehicle? I do not know exactly what that means.
It would be in your list of modules here…. but yes the other one would show it also.
Make sure the FCIM shows a heated steering wheel active. You need that setting for Sync to talk to the HSWM.
