2018 F150 Update worked well for about a week, now not so much...

I used the Cyanlabs Windows method to successfully update to 3.4 from 3.0. it worked well for about a week then it started to go haywire. The first thing I experienced was the Sound Settings would have the EQ all maxed and unable to change settings, the Balance/Fade was stuck in Front Left. I did a master reset using the head unit: No change. I pulled Fuse 33 in the passenger footwell fuse block and it cleared the Fader issue but not the settings issue. I went to the official Ford site and gave my VIN then started the update process only to have a new error message stating " The sync software is not compatible with the installed sync hardware of the vehicle". No hardware was changed and this was using the direct from Ford Updater.

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
The sync software is not compatible with the installed sync hardware of the vehicle

Syn3 Updater Version: 2.0

Syn3 Updater Documentation Read: yes

Syn3 Updater Log File

No log files available on thumb drive; user error likely since I tried the Ford Updater method after the initially successful CyanLabs Windows (latest version)

Ford will only give you the Sync version that is supported on your vehicle, you installed 3.4 on a 3.0 vehicle so you’ll never be able to use what Ford has for your VIN without replacing the APIM with one running 3.0.

Have you performed a master reset ?
