Sync3 version 3 update to latest version via cyanlabs synupdate stalled with an error message.
How do I recover from this?

This usually happens when the reformat.lst file is corrupted or not properly set up. Your system is still recoverable. Try removing the USB and re-creating it, then plug it back in and it should automatically start installing again.
I did that, 13 or 14 minutes into it, it fails with exactly the same message.
I have deleted att the files from the download folder, I then deleted the files on the Zip drive. Formatted the Zip drive for exfat.
Now I’m running the program again.
This takes a while for the files to be copied to the drive. I should be able to try this again later this morning.
this had been failing at the exact same spot on every attempt. I deleted all the files, and did the upgrade as navigation, but no maps.
I now have a fully functioning sync, but obliviously no maps.
May I load the map packages only, by selecting only those packages in the loader?
If so, may I load just a few at at time? This may be a memory type of issue for me.
There are what appears to be a total of 9 map packages (US), and 3 Voice_nav packages, and a Map_license file.
as I look into this, If I select the specific map options, the install mode changes to downgrade.

The reformat.lst file does not list the maps to be installed in the above.
You need to copy all these files below to the SyncMyRide folder on the usb, with the addition of the app file 3.3.19052 for the downgrade to enable the reformat… All the maps and nav voice files must be listed in the reformat file to be installed. It will look like this:

You could copy the above and paste it into the reformat.lst file on the usb. Make sure that you save the file as .lst, not .txt…
Then insert the drive again, it will take 28-30 minutes.
Just run the Syn3Updater for maps and downgrade and see if your usb has all the files.

That is correct. You cannot use the reformat on the newer versions of 3.4

I just noticed that the error in the pic above stated “PKG_ERR03”
PKG_ERR03 – Error is PKG_UNTAR_FAILURE
Did your vehicle come from the factory with maps?
Did you run the APIM Utility to determine the storage space on the unit?

Yes, it had maps and nav.
The process stalled on the particular package in the error message.

I’m going to try the interrogator method later today. We have 16 inches of snow to clean up here first!
Use a different usb and download that file again, something is corrupted at that point.
