My 2021 Ford F350, without NAV, did an automatic update and now I only have a partial screen. I have done a key cycle, soft reset, and then disconnected the battery terminals as well for a time. I cannot do a master reset as I cannot see the buttons to get it to do it. I need some assistance, it would be so appreciated! I am not sure on the old or new version of what I have…
That makes no sense and it’s contradictory in every way.
So take a moment to explain what you have done.
If you in fact received an official Ford’s upgrade and you ended up like that, then your unit is not stock and has been modified (so not OEM).
Personally, I do not like playing “the guessing game”.
Also post:
a photo of the unit’s screen.
the XML file generated by Syn3updater 's interrogator log.
I bought the truck used from a dealer less than a month ago. They told me everything was stock. I connected my home wifi to my pickup and it did an automatic update to Sync. I cannot get the correct version because there are no buttons to push on the screen to see what version I am on. This is a picture of what it looks like.
What you’re seeing is exactly what happens when the Display Unit has been upgraded on a 4" to 8" conversion. Have you ever used Forscan on this vehicle?
I really appreciate you responding to me and trying to help. I cNt figure it out, I’m not very smart at things like that. My def heater apparently just went ot as well. This must have been a ba bad purchase. What I need is a step by step process to fix things with a windows 10 laptop.
Have you considered going back to the dealer to have this corrected by them?.
I mean, it’s less than a month old and you didn’t do anything wrong.
Again, if you used the automatic update by Ford’s and you ended up like this, the unit IS NOT STOCK.
Yeah I have talked to them, but the dealer is a 5 hour drive one way. They aren’t sure they will warranty it anyway. Sometimes being so far away isnt always the best place to live. If I had a way to put the correct update on a USB I know I could do that.
How do I download the “Updater”
I really need your help if you’re willing to give it.
It looms like you’re closing my threads on the forum…I didn’t know I couldn’t post it multiple spots, I was just looking for help. Please help me
I was able to download the syn3 updater, how do I know what version to select? Hiw do I get the log file?
Do you really think spamming me 6 consecutive messages on a sunday will motivate me to helping you?. This is a user driven community, it’s free and you are not paying anything for this, it’s not a service.
The dealer which charged you several thousands dollars for the vehicle should be receiving this kind of “attention demand” from you, not us. Are we clear on that?.
I’ve merged your spam into a single message, from now on please use the edit button if more information needs to be added, do not post multiple messages, be civil.
Back to your case, thank you for the information. The XML file would be better than a poto, but I have seen what I needed to see.
I have a very important question: what Sync3 version is the unit running?, you can check that on the screen in the About Sync section. This is very important, because I can’t find that package on our DB.
Based on deductions, that’s the small screen sw sync3 runs, hence the small screen.
But I need confirmation about the version and build number from the about sync3 section.
Sorry to butt in but apparently he cannot get into the ‘about’ screen to check sync version and build as there is currently no link to the settings on the screen unless there is another way to access it.
I am so sorry, I didn’t realize what I was doing was wrong, but I will try to think through things better. I did not mean to offend or “spam” you. Again my apologies. I realize this is not a service and nobody has to help me in any way. I’m ignorant to how this forum works, so please forgive my ignorance.
