Ambient Lighting not working after to 3.4.23188

My vehicle came with ambient lighting. After updating to sync 3.4.23188, the ambient lighting works only in the door handles. My footwell, cupholders, and 2nd row no longer lights.

I have the performed the following,

Hold the next and power button at the same time…2x, and performed a master reset. It doesn’t work at.

Did you do a sync master reset after the upload to the car?

Also you could try deleting those 2 apps on your phone and reinstalling them as this has worked for others.

Yes I performed a master reset, and i have tried deleting the apps and reinstall. I installed various version of pandora such as,

2208.2
2205.1.1
2204.1
2203.1
2201.1, is one was the most stable until waking up this morning and the app keeps crashing. I have to go into app and turn off and on launch on car for it to reconnect. It seems with pandora sync and launch on car has problems communicating with one another. The version have the same problem but also if you hit the like or dislike button it crashes.

Amazing these pointless updates doesnt fix anything.

I have a samsung s22+

Can you submit the interrogator log file from the syn3 utility/tool box so those here who know more than me can check it out ?

Are there any other issues with your latest version 3.4.23188?
Music, radio, phone (apart from apps), Nav., voice etc, all work ok?

No other issues, be sides that everything seems to be working. Its just the apps such as iheart and pandora keeps crashing. I will upload interrogator later.

I doubt your ambient lighting issue has anything to do with a sync update.

Also, with respect, you are confusing the issue by combining issues here on a separate thread to your original Pandora and iHeart problems causing a repeat of original issues.

Probably better to add further issues on the same thread.

In a 2018 Explorer the door Ambient Lighting is supplied by the door modules, (PDM & DDM) so it would make sense that they operate separately. The rest of the vehicle ambient lighting comes from the Body Control Module (BCM). A 2018 Expedition works the exact same way.

Other than controlling the color and if it is on or off the Sync version has nothing more to do with the Ambient lighting. One thing that did change is that the ambient lighting is only on when your headlights are on. Try turning on your headlights in a dark garage and see what happens.

Thank you, i tried that as well nothing happens. Mines is set on auto, but did try the on. My ambient lighting was working until was working until this update.

Do you use Forscan? Did you do a Calibration update?

I dont even have forscan, my car is factory. It came with ambient lights from the factory. How do you perform a calibration? I tried unplugging the negative battery for 15 min nothing happened.

You don’t need to do a calibration. Just making sure you did not make other changes that you did not mention before.

Yes the ambient lighting shows it is turned on. Just the two front door handles lights up.

The front door handles light up to whatever color is selected. My vehicle came with ambient lighting from the factory, before this update the footwell cupholder and rear footwell and door handles would light. After this update it no longer works.

If it is working in the doors and showing the color you selected than you clearly have a BCM or wiring issue. SYNC is working just fine.

We had this issue before with someone and they simply reset modules (battery disconnect / ForScan) then after a few days it started working again.
