APIM not working after firmware upgrade

While trying to upgrade APIM firmware I got loading firmware failed and service procedure has been interrupted. Sync 3 screen is black and doesn’t react to anything. This is what I get in forscan every time:

In the "configuration and programming tab in forscan, all I can see related to APIM is now module firmware update.
Also UCDS Calibration File Download website doesn’t seem to be working… All help will be appreciated

Could you post a screen capture of the APIM firmware screen in FORScan showing the part numbers and firmware versions?

You can follow this and try to get the unit back…

DISCLAIMER, this is dangerous for those that have an already working APIM.

Program the vehicle with the following:
SBL: GB5T-14G376-AA.VBF
Strat: GB5T-14G374-AF.VBF
Cal: GB5T-14G375-CA.VBF

Make sure that nothing says ignored, you should click the button at the bottom that says Force Program and Silence busses, also check “Recovery”.
Note: If you do not have a ‘recovery’ option, you need to update FORScan to the newest 2.4.3 version.
When it completes, if you are at the same point you were before with a blank screen, do the following.

Shut the vehicle off.
With the vehicle off, only flash the following:
SBL: GB5T-14G376-AA.VBF
ECU Config/Sound Profile (CAN): GB5T-14G379-AA
ECU Config/Illumination Strat (CAN): GB5T-14G379-BA
Follow the prompts in FORScan, it should come back to the ford logo when it’s complete. Turn vehicle on and it should fully power up.

Updating APIM Firmware (Calibration Files) - Ford / Sync 3 - CyanLabs Official Community

These were my calibration files before trying to update:

I’ve found this calibration file in one of your comments GB5T-14G374-CB.VBF and it made my APIM work again. Do you know what calibration files I could try to upload to update my APIM?

This is my suggestion now that it is working, leave it as is.

The reason for this is that your unit is a ‘G’ series unit, GB5T-14G371-CFC. These units do not upgrade well with firmware, and prone to issues like you have seen when messing with the firmware. The newer features available in newer firmware will not work properly on the ‘G’ series units, and most will not work at all. If you really want the latest firmware and hardware, purchase a new unit, like the ‘J’ or ‘K’ series. These are much faster and reliable.

I was hoping that maybe upgrading APIM would solve my “warm back, cold butt” issue since resetting SCME and FCIM modules didn’t help  Anyhow thanks for your help!

The APIM does not control the function of the heated seats except for the user interface. This is controlled thru the SCME or FCIM depending on the seats using heat only or heat and cooling. If you press the ‘buttons’ on the APIM vs pressing the real hard buttons on the FCIM, is there a difference in how the seat behaves? If not, the issue is probably the SCME or associated wiring. The was a TSB in 2016 and 2017 for wiring in the seats getting pinched or frayed for the F150’s and other vehicles.
