Hello, I recently purchased a 2019 ACM with Part # KL3T-18D832-BG. I installed it on my 2015 Ford F150, which already had an ACM # CJ5T-19C107-GB 2015. Everything seems to be working fine on my 2015 ACM, but when I tried to copy the asbuilt data to the 2019 ACM, it gave me an error message saying “wrong structure”. I was able to get the FM radio to show up but I can’t get the HD radio to show up on my 2019 ACM. Can someone help me configure it? Also, can someone tell me if this ACM “KL3T-18D832-BG, 01 2019” is better than my previous one? I got this one so that the icons could show up on the radio stations and my Sirius radio. I have both the as-built files for the ACM and APIM. Thank you in advance.
Not an issue, we can get that working. Did you already add the wiring for the 2019 ACM? 2 pairs of wires for the direct communication between the APIM and ACM. This is required for this to work in a 2015 F150.
The K series ACM is in our database. The asbuilt is different than the 2015 model, so it will not work.
The BG model does not have HD Radio.
This radio is an early 2019 and may not have the newer X40 chipset. I will look…
The wiring for the SDL/DRDL must be in place.
Additional wiring required:
VMEF7 APIM pin 51 to ACM pin 6 CTRL MOD - Audio Head Unit DRDL_TX_+
VMEF8 APIM pin 52 to ACM pin 19 CTRL MOD - Audio Head Unit DRDL_TX_-
VMEG1 APIM pin 27 to ACM pin 5 CTRL MOD - BT/MM GW MOD DRDL_TX_+
VMEG2 APIM pin 28 to ACM pin 4 CTRL MOD - BT/MM GW MOD DRDL_TX_-
Quick question Can i go to a newer acm for example 2022,2023? Also do u know the name of the connectors so i can make a new cable and just add it to my current cable instead of modifying my original cables
So just to clarify i need to remove the cables from the apim connector and pin them to acm connector? And thats the conector on the right side ? Do you know what type of pins do i need to purchase?
I’m a bit confused about adding the cables. Do I remove them, cut them from the APIM connector and add them to the ACM connector, or can I just bridge them?
APIM pin 51 to ACM pin 6
APIM pin 52 to ACM pin 19
APIM pin 27 to ACM pin 5
APIM pin 28 to ACM pin 4-
You just need to run the 2 wires from the ACM to the APIM. You could use the wires from the 2 harnesses you posted or just splice into the correct wires on those.
If you’re using the harnesses you took pics of than I would cut and solder the wires. They won’t go anywhere on the other end since you did not have that to begin with.
On a side note when you activate or transfer your Sirius subscription, You will need to have them activate traffic plus. Not the regular traffic. You will also need to activate the x40 settings in the APIM with Forscan.
