Has anyone issued an update to the APIM software before 2020 for vehicles experiencing audio issues? I am experiencing where the vehicle has a glitch when playing via bluetooth and Apple Carplay. The problem is it still plays the music but it’ll have hiccups within 30 seconds to 3-4 minutes to where it’ll pause and then play with in a millisecond and also drop audio as well. Do I need to do any other modifications to the software to have the glitches go. I have done a master reset and that did not fix anything. Now I want to downgrade back to 3.3 to the old UI and hopefully avoid the audio bugs. Will that work?

When I did the upate I had no error messages.
I also have a 2018 Edge. I upgraded the APIM to a K series along with 3.4.26057 and my wife uses an iPhone 17. She has not had any problems like that and all she uses is Apple music.
I cant tell you exactly what the solution is but it may be more than a Sync version issue.
Hello! I have been suffering the same audio glitches/skips since I upgraded my 2019 Focus Sync 3 factory head unit from v3.3.18201 to v3.4.2188 from Ford website using my VIN. Audio was never a problem on the original 18201, then the problem started after updating - including with a fresh USB and confirming the songs are not corrupt on the PC. It also happens using Android Auto wired and wirelessly using an Aliexpress wireless adaptor. I found these forums and the Syn3Updater app and tried the latest update to 3.4.26057 hoping that fixed it - but still the same.
I usually have the pops and skips happen after driving for ~15+ minutes, then its roughly every 5min or so. I thought the headunit might be overheating so I put a cloth over it which lowered the temp (at the back of the display anyway - considering the main cpu is probably behind the dash somewhere) - but still skips - also happens late at night when it shouldn’t be sunlight related. Never heard the radio skip though - only MP3 music via USB stick, Android Auto, and even tested bluetooth only - still skips.
I’m computer savvy enough to get in behind the dash and replace thermal paste or thermal pads if someone could point me in the right direction or know where to find headunit documentation so I’m not flying blind.
I’m otherwise just strongly considering rolling back to the previous version that worked fine for me - 3.3.18201.
