Black Screen after successfully running the interogator logs

Hey guys, I was using the sync3 auto updater software to upgrade my replacement sync 3 unit from 3.0 to 3.4. Running the interrogater logs they confirmed that my unit is pre my20 and I downloaded the update. After putting the usb with the update ready back in the car, the screen restarted and is now black. I checked the unit with forscan and it appears to be a H-J-PRE-2018.5. I tried using the APIM rescue guide and the software flashed successfully but the screen is still black and non functioning. Voltage also seems to be fine on the APIM module. Should I look for a new APIM or is there an alternative option I can explore.

As a side note, the car is a Mustang V6 from 2017 and I did program the driving modes and they are still functioning correctly even after reflashing the firmware. Forscan logs don’t show any indication of failure.

I forgot to add that I can read and write the module on Forscan.

So no audio?, nothing? Completely dead?
Share the APIM model with us.

Also, are you willing to unmount the unit and take a picture of the sticker?

thank you for the quick response

so yeah, no audio and no backup camera I can try and remove the dash parts to see the model but forscan reads it as a (H-J-PRE-2018.5)

I will see if any DTC logs appear, but when I tried flashing the firmware no errors appeared.

That’s not a valid Sync3 APIM, so that would explain things… We need the model, the full model…

I will do it tomorrow since I don’t have the tools to remove it right now, thank you

Share a picture of what forscan says for the module… The part number should contain 14G371 in the middle…

Forscan says it’s JS7T-14G371-KED with latest known JS7T-14G371-KHE

Another thing worth to mention is that I tried to upload a non nav update and mine was a Nav… I think this is where the issue is… Is there a way to unbrick it?

Again, share a picture… I think that’s calibration…

Either way, because of the naming convention, I would like to see the sticker… It may be MY20…

Tomorrow I will remove the dash to see the actual writing on the part
