Bricked my Sync 3, bought other Sync3.4 from different car.

So, I apparently managed to brick my Sync 3 while updating to 3.4. It’s a 2016 Mondeo/Fusion I just bought, and I didn’t give it much thought that it might already have a newer Sync unit. After it showed “installing new software” the screen went black, and now a hard reset only causes the USB ports to blink briefly.

Does it show a black screen?

I’ve now bought a unit from a Kuga 2 that already has Sync 3.4 with Navigation (my previous unit didn’t). But how will it work in my Mondeo? Do I need to change anything?

You will need to change the asbuilt in the APIM to reflect the vehicle model it is installed into, otherwise the nav will not function properly.
You will need FORScan and a quality USB OBD adapter.
