Cannot see version

I cannot see the version of my sync 3 as the unit keeps on restarting, can I select a random version, eg. 3.4.22020?

If you are on SYNC 3.4 selecting 3.4.2xxxx e.g 3.4.22020 will be fine

Thanks, however it just freezes after startup. Should I try an earlier version?

Going to need WAY more information to be able to help…

It is stuck in an endless startup loop, I cannot access anything. Currently when it starts up it freezes at the home screen, see photo.

I can tell by that pic alone you don’t have 3.4 installed.

It came past the freeze long enough to get the version and do a master reset, however is stuck in the startup loop again…

I’ll try the process again using the correct current version and report back.

No luck, still stuck in the startup loop, cannot even confirm auto update question after master restart.

If I get a new APIM, are they generic for SYNC 3 or do I need to get a specific one?

Mostly generic. You only need the APIM itself, not the screen. Do not purchase cheap Chinese units as these are likely counterfeit and nothing but problems. Look to see what model you have installed first and post that info here.
