I have a 2012 BTVC ford focus st and have changed to a sync 3 apim and screen. The apim was out of a 2017 focus titanium running version 3.4 build 23188. I took the car to a shop to get the apim coded, but they couldn’t talk to the apim with the latest version of forscan. He could program the BCM but not see the apim. The sync 3 system can play radio, usb and android auto no problem. I can make calls and reply to messages using the touch screen with no problem. The nav works ok, but does come up with an error when first turning the system when getting into the car. The apim shows the vin of my car, not the vin of car it was taken from (which is a bit strange)

Nav is hit or miss, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t and i get a message saying “Navigation is not functioning properly. Please visit your dealer for service” I also get a message saying “Emergency Assistance is not operational. Please contact your dealer for service” I believe the second message is because the apim hasn’t been programed. Also after updating to version 3.4 which said it was installed correctly, i removed the usb and the system rebooted. When it restarted I got a message saying “installation in progress some features will continue to be disabled until this process is complete. Please keep the update usb in the system and the engine running so that it can complete” which is strange as it asked me to remove the usb when the green screen came up. That message only came up once and has never come back.
