CarPlay doesn't work for upgraded sync 3

I just upgraded to a sync 3 system from my sync 2 in my 2015 f150 and everything works properly except CarPlay, I don’t even have the option for it on my screen. I tried programming my APIM to my factory data and then tried using a different factory data that would support CarPlay and still nothing. I have the correct adapters and hardware and there was a time when CarPlay was an option but it still would not actually project CarPlay. I have not tried the sync 3 updater.

SYNC Region: NA

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: Unknown

Install Type: Retrofit

Old SYNC Version: 2.0

New SYNC Version: 3.4

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
No

Update Method: Official Ford

I dont see it mentioned but your using an official Apple cable right?

How do you know you have the right hardware? Was this a kit you bought?

Yes I tried multiple cables. CarPlay is not even an option on the screen at all, it only showed up a couple times when I was messing with the as built data in forscan.

CarPlay won’t appear until a connection is made, the same applies to Android Auto.
Since this is a retrofit, do you have a compatible HUB? → Media Hub, CarPlay Compatible - 2015-2020 Ford/Lincoln - SYNC 3

The hub is compatible as far as I know, it came with the kit. I’m assuming I need to reconfigure the APIM but I’m lost at this point, thanks for the help

As far as I know, there’s no specific configuration for Car Play… But I may be wrong…
Have you tried with Android Auto?, Android Auto is more forgiving…

There is not a configuration for AA or CP in Sync, it is built in and mainly gets any configuration from your phone.

What is the part number on the hub? Is it a Ford OEM hub?
