Everything started in October 2022, when I installed the official Ford Sync update to version 3.4.22200. After that, DAB could no longer be used. Selecting DAB would immediately switch back to FM. Occasionally, this also happened with USB or Android Auto as the source. FM stations had poor reception, and in some cases, searching was not possible at all.
At the time, I was unable to confirm the update on the Ford website, so I contacted their customer service. They manually confirmed the update and additionally sent me the F11 map update via email. The installation worked, but confirming it via the log file was still not possible.
I then left the issue unresolved until 2025. Since then, I first tried updating to 3.4.23188 via CyanLabs, but the problem persisted.
After that, I performed a “clean” downgrade to 3.3.19052, followed by another update to 3.4.23188. The issue still remained.
I have already searched through the forum and tried several things, for example changing the “FM/AM Antenna Config” from “Incorrect Value or not configured” to all possible settings, without success.
SYNC Region: EU
Navigation Variant: Nav
Manufacturer Year: MY20
Install Type: OEM
Old SYNC Version: 3.4.22200
New SYNC Version: 3.4.23188
Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
No particular message.
Sadly nothing changed. I was able to do the full installation but the issue remains: Radio is “stuck” to FM. If I hit “DAB” as Source it just defaults back to FM immediately.
Please be aware that Ive been testing here and there to try and fix the issue. Issue started before I ever opened AsBuilt and even with the storage/backed up settings the issue remained.
