Dev cert reformat tool download

I have an APIM I believe has dev certs on it as it will not accept any package I try. I found this reformat tool with the dev cert but I’m unable to download it. I keep getting 504 gateway timeout and was hoping someone had the file for me to try. The APIM doesn’t have the stickers on it like a normal production APIM and was an early 2016 unit. I saw some slipped out of the factory with dev certs and was going to at least attempt to use the dev cert tool to reformat and install production software. 1U5T-14G386-BB is the package.

Factory Reformat Tool - Dev Cert

CyanLabs has 1U5T-14G386-BB 3.2.17209 Factory Reformat Tool - Dev Cert. As the name implies, the major difference is a certificate. There’s also a tool over on FMods for APIMs that got locked out due to having a VHTech cert installed when someone did a jailbreak of the APIM.

My take on seeing the 2016s showing up with extremely old builds that won’t update is that the certificate is now expired. A lot of the certificate tools before before Apple unilaterally decided to block certs over 13 months old would only allow a max code signing certificate life of 8 years.

I’ll look into that fmods tool. I was looking on there and couldn’t find anything. Would I not be able to get around the cert expiring by just changing the time on my computer or the car?

Your problem would be the date not the time.
Various modules in the car store things like the last config change date/time (eg the PCM), BMS stores days since battery change, etc.
I haven’t heard of anyone finding where the APIM pulls it from, but if time is pulled from GPS the date is in the time hack mark so I don’t think you could roll it back since that is held by the APIM OS, not the Sync3 app.

1U5T-14G386-BB is the package.

That file is depricated by Ford. Use the -CB version and just use the Syn3Updater to upgrade your unit as long as it is not MY20+. It should not be since you show it has Sync 3.0 v1.0.1539.
