Download says my truck is not my20 but i have a new apim

When i ran the usb in my truck and then put it back into my computer it said i did not have a my20 apim. but i upgraded the apim from sync 2 to sync 3 on my own and the label on the back says MFG date was 07-07-2020. i just want to verify it is not just going on the vin provided as my truck is a 2015

That’s a counterfeit unit, the APIM identifies itself as GB5T-14G371-CFC, not MY20 as per our database.

So i should be able to proceed with the 3.4.2251 update?

If it was a genuine GB5T-14G371-CFC APIM (which is a G series by the way, it’s ancient) I would say yes, you should be fine.

But since you bought a counterfeit, no one can assure you it will work as expected.

So, it’s up to you. It may or may not work.
