Installation Failed Error Code:SIGN_ERR01

I have been trying to install the SYNC 3 updated versions all day for my truck. Every attempt has resulted in this error code. I have performed multiple Master Resets and soft resets.
I first started by using the CyanLabs Updater program to go from version 2.0.16074 to the latest version = that didn’t work.
I tried the Manual Method suggested (i think SandMan) from the 2016 Mustang thread. Version 2.2.17011 install to 3.0.20204 Install = that didn’t work.
I tried individually downloading these updates to upload into my truck one at a time (HN1T-14G381-SA_64817.tar.gz; JR3T-14G381-AX_1599788486000.TAR.GZ) = didn’t work.
I tried downloading the software update from the Ford website = that didn’t work.
I tried connecting to Wi-Fi; truck wouldn’t even connect to Wi-Fi = that didn’t work.

I have already tried running the interrogator downloadable, would not connect to truck to run the log file back in the Updater Program.

I have already tried running the 2.2 downloadable = didn’t work.

I have already tried running the cleaner program from the Updater program = didn’t work.

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
SIGN_ERR01

Update Method: CyanLabs Manual Method

What’s the vehicle’s background?, are you the 1st owner?.
What USB pendrive are you using?, you didn’t provide a log.
Have you tried running just the interrogator log against the unit?

Not the first owner of the vehicle.

Tried using Sandisk Brand first then went and bought a memorex. I did make sure it was a reconized USB jump drive on both as mention in one of your other threads you commented on making sure the jump drive wasnt a knock off thumbdrive.

I did try running Interrogator, received an error code when i tried that earlier today.

It seems absolutly nothing works with the APIM so the only answer is that it is bad and should be replaced.

Does the APIM even boot to Sync?

I feel the same about APIM is shot, just did an update on my wife’s 2018 Expedition using the Sandisk thumb drive and Uploaded successfully (used Ford’s recommended update while CyanLabs downloads newer update versions).

“Boot to SYNC,” are you just referring to the standard functionality of the unit itself? If so we have owned the truck for just about two years.

We are just now finding out about the additional updates that can be performed since I have never been able to connect the truck to Wi-Fi.

Yes, That the APIM boots up normal right now.

You can goto the Ford site and download them to see whats available for it and if their route works. It may work better if it steps up a bit slower.

The issue with it not atleast connecting to Wi-Fi could be a sign of a bigger issue.

What error?, do you remember?.

So, from your description, the unit is unable to run any package, which of course is not good. The error you are getting is about the digital signature, nothing you can do about that. That leads me to believe the APIM is on its way out.

Do you have forscan and an adapter?. If so, can you share the APIM model? (it can be read that way).

I did try the Ford website method yesterday and no luck doing that.

I still get standard functionally. The unit has just always been laggy at times, would randomly turn off, Bluetooth would not connect at times.

I do not have a Forscan scanner.

The APIM model numbers I was about to obtain by holding down “forward seek” and “eject cd” buttons are these listed below if that would help with you suggestion.

Assembly Part Number: HB5T-14G371-CAG

H/W Part Number: HB5T-14G380-BA

CCPU S/W Part Number: HB5T-14G381-AJ

VMCU S/ Part Number: GB5T-14G374-CB

Calibration S/W Part Number: GB5T-14G375-CA

Yup, Just an old H series. Probally slowly going out.

This is the likely issue, known issues, probably corrupted. Your options are to reprogram the APIM using FORScan and a USB OBD adapter with a licensed version of FORScan, or replace the unit. HB5T-14G371-CAG is a nav equipped unit, but you could replace the unit with a non-nav APIM if you use CarPlay or AA for nav. The APIM as it is right now will not support CarPlay.

Amazing info from all contributors and really appreciate the support and help. Excellent to know that a Non-nav apim can be used as replacement since Apple Car Play will be the GPS being used.

Thank you all
