[3/13/2021 10:13:33 AM] ALL FILES DOWNLOADED AND COPIED TO THE USB DRIVE SUCCESSFULLY!

Please describe in detail your issue below
I’ve tried with multiple USB thumb drives and external hard drives. I’ve also tried with every version of Sync available on Cyanlabs. The result is always the same. It’s embarrassing to say how may times I’ve tried, but I’ve been in complete disbelief. It’s just weird.

Do you have any other device (usb, phone, sd card reader, sd card) connected to another port?
All ports should be clear, except the one you are using for the upgrade.

Great question, @SaNdMaN .

  • I do have other ports, but they are all clear
  • In fact, in my compulsive attempt to make this work, I even tried installing from different ports with the same results.

Replace VOICE=5U5T-14G391-BM_1598635668000.TAR.GZ with 5U5T-14G391-CM_1598635923000.TAR.GZ, available in the updater or software database on the site.

You have an 8GB APIM, and the file is too large for the amount of free storage. You can run the APIM Interrogator and read this tutorial for a better explanation.

Tutorial: APIM Interrogator Utility - Ford / Guides & Info - CyanLabs Official Community

Thanks, @F150Chief! Obviously you are onto something. I studied your note carefully and I noticed this.

In my log file posted above on 3/13/21 for release 3.4.20351, there were three files:
FILES (3)
1u5t-14g386-cb.tar.gz (8.5MB)
5U5T-14G381-EM_1611967752000.TAR.GZ (848.6MB)
5U5T-14G391-BM_1598635668000.TAR.GZ (1.4GB)

Today, I repeated the installation for release 3.4.20351 and there are now 4 files.
FILES (4)
1u5t-14g386-cb.tar.gz (8.5MB)
4U5T-14G423-CB_1598636132000.TAR.GZ (566.3MB)
5U5T-14G381-EM_1611967752000.TAR.GZ (848.6MB)
5U5T-14G391-CM_1598635923000.TAR.GZ (385.4MB)

I find this very interested, so I am going to try to run the APIM interrogator.

@F150Chief - I think this will surprise you. I used the application to create an Interrogator Log USB (log file below). To my surprise, the Interrogator Log USB gave me the same error that I always get:

Installation paused. The USB storage device has been changed or removed. Installation will resume when the device is re-inserted.

You used the -AD version, use the -AB or AC version. AD is for sync 3.4.

You can find these in the software database.

The 3 files you list above are correct for your unit.

If this fails, consider it just might be a faulty hub.
But let’s see what the interrogator says.

Btw, if you search your error on the forums, there’s another thread that has no clear solution yet…

This is fixed in the upcoming release, i am literally waiting on people to translate the missing strings

@SaNdMaN , @F150Chief - All of you have been so nice and helpful. Thank you!

I continued to try to get the interrogator to work. There is one thing universally true on my unit…I always get:
Installation paused. The USB storage device has been changed or removed. Installation will resume when the device is re-inserted.

I’ve got some ideas that I’m going to work with today. It is sort of silly for me to continue, but this is a mystery to me that I just want to solve. I’ll get back to you with my success or failure. Thanks!

Have you got a hub with an sd card? If so, remove the sd card, otherwise as mentioned likely a faulty hub.

I got same error, Did you ever find a solution?

@Zhao - It was not for a lack of effort or help, but I tried everything multiple times without success. It is always the same :

Installation paused. The USB storage device has been changed or removed. Installation will resume when the device is re-inserted.

I am going to wait on new updates from CyanLabs. I bet it gets fixed at some time.

CyanLabs will never fix this issue as it’s not our issue, you either have a faulty hub or faulty usb.

I copy these into autoinstall.lst
It start update and return LST_ERR04 :joy:

without these space just return Installation paused.
sound stupid

This is a common issue with word processing editors inserting characters. Paste as plain text, not formatted text.

But use syn3updater create file
Return
Installation paused. The USB storage device has been changed or removed. Installation will resume when the device is re-inserted.

I will change OS from Win10 to Win7 next try

If you are on Sync 3.0, use file -AB.
For Sync 3.2 and above, use file -AC.

For Sync 3.2/3.3/3.4:
Copy and paste this file to the USB replacing your existing file. Do not edit it.
autoinstall.lst (116 Bytes)

Make sure the file in the SyncMyRide folder matches that in the autoinstall.lst file.
GB5T-14G386-AC.tar.gz

For Sync 3.0:
Copy and paste this file to the USB replacing your existing file. Do not edit it.
autoinstall.lst (116 Bytes)

Make sure the file in the SyncMyRide folder matches that in the autoinstall.lst file.
GB5T-14G386-AB.tar.gz

Still return Installation paused.

What Sync version are you presently on?

Have you checked your APIM for DTC’s? There may be an issue.
It could also be an issue with the USB hub.
