CYANLABS - SYN3 UPDATER - V2.4.2.0
Branch: Release
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (2009)
Please describe in detail your issue below I’ve tried with multiple USB thumb drives and external hard drives. I’ve also tried with every version of Sync available on Cyanlabs. The result is always the same. It’s embarrassing to say how may times I’ve tried, but I’ve been in complete disbelief. It’s just weird.
Do you have any other device (usb, phone, sd card reader, sd card) connected to another port?
All ports should be clear, except the one you are using for the upgrade.
Replace VOICE=5U5T-14G391-BM_1598635668000.TAR.GZ with 5U5T-14G391-CM_1598635923000.TAR.GZ, available in the updater or software database on the site.
You have an 8GB APIM, and the file is too large for the amount of free storage. You can run the APIM Interrogator and read this tutorial for a better explanation.
Thanks, @F150Chief! Obviously you are onto something. I studied your note carefully and I noticed this.
In my log file posted above on 3/13/21 for release 3.4.20351, there were three files:
FILES (3)
1u5t-14g386-cb.tar.gz (8.5MB)
5U5T-14G381-EM_1611967752000.TAR.GZ (848.6MB)
5U5T-14G391-BM_1598635668000.TAR.GZ (1.4GB)
Today, I repeated the installation for release 3.4.20351 and there are now 4 files.
FILES (4)
1u5t-14g386-cb.tar.gz (8.5MB)
4U5T-14G423-CB_1598636132000.TAR.GZ (566.3MB)
5U5T-14G381-EM_1611967752000.TAR.GZ (848.6MB)
5U5T-14G391-CM_1598635923000.TAR.GZ (385.4MB)
I find this very interested, so I am going to try to run the APIM interrogator.
@F150Chief - I think this will surprise you. I used the application to create an Interrogator Log USB (log file below). To my surprise, the Interrogator Log USB gave me the same error that I always get:
Installation paused. The USB storage device has been changed or removed. Installation will resume when the device is re-inserted.

@SaNdMaN , @F150Chief - All of you have been so nice and helpful. Thank you!
I continued to try to get the interrogator to work. There is one thing universally true on my unit…I always get: Installation paused. The USB storage device has been changed or removed. Installation will resume when the device is re-inserted.
I’ve got some ideas that I’m going to work with today. It is sort of silly for me to continue, but this is a mystery to me that I just want to solve. I’ll get back to you with my success or failure. Thanks!
But use syn3updater create file
Return Installation paused. The USB storage device has been changed or removed. Installation will resume when the device is re-inserted.
