Hi Everyone!

I was having some difficulties to install the updated sync version and @F150Chief helped me. I was able to try again only this week, but after doing everything that i was told to do, the update still not starting. I left the car on for around 30 minutes, and nothing happened except for the “updating firmware” pop up.

So all in all it seems like there really isn’t enough space to install everything listed. You have 2.6GB of free space however the 3 packages that are slated for install amount to ~3.2GB.

Try installing each package 1 at a time and see what happens. You can do this by simply editing the autoinstall.lst to include only 1 item at a time. For example:

Well what I believe ends up happening is when you want to install a new package SYNC extracts the contents of that package to the system before overwriting the existing package so technically it uses more space than the actual package size to install but once it overwrites the existing package it frees up the space used by extraction so you should be left with approximately the same amount of space after installation (unless the package sizes vary greatly).

When installing all 3 packages at once there may be issues with that little amount of space, but doing them one at a time should help. You can also run the interrogator tool after installing each package and check your free space at every step if you’re curious or get stuck.

The voice file that’s provided (1.4GB) is a combo voice package designated for ANZ,CN and ROW (if I’m not mistaken). There is a smaller (1.05GB) voice package that’s specific to ANZ but you should try and install the initially provided package first.

If you are looking for PTB - Brazilian Portuguese, then the 1GB voice file does contain that language and you can use it instead of the large 1.4GB file. For a NON-NAV unit, this is the one I would recommend due to space restrictions.

Hello guys. I was able to install the latest sync 21098 but I lost the climate contols on the screen. Is there a way to enable it back? Remark: my original version didn’t had it, but it got enable when I updated to 20196.

I still have to install the voice package and grace notes.

It was a bug that it was enabled in that version, ford fixed it in a later version, you need to use ForScan and adjust your asbuilt to get it working.

I have 1.1 gb available, and the voice package is 1,098. Do you think that is the reason?

It will probably not matter which way you install the files, there is not enough space to do so. If you are not committed to Sync 3.4 you could install Sync 3.3.19052 and the voice and Gracenotes will fit.

If you are ok with English NAV Voice, you can use the NA NAV voice file which is close to 400MB. Just substitute the -DN file with the -CN file.

I think Im gonna keep it with English voice, and everything else as it is. Since it is non nav, I don’t even use the voice commands that much.
