Installed the Touch Screen APIM on a 4 inch, how to revert and install the correct version?

So yesterday the trucks sound system and most buttons related to the screen were not working; power, seek, media, radio, etc. Investigating I found out about CyanLabs being the best way for all sync 3 devices to update and that would probably fix the issue, but did not understand that CyanLabs does not automatically work for Non-Touch 4-inch versions and that you must install manually the version.

I have the Log of the first install that went through, and a few other logs of the last version I tried installing (which should be the correct version), this one does not install since it gives me an error I can’t read completely, all I can make out is “Error Code: PKG_…”

From one of your replies in another post I used this: NU5T-14G381-BB - SYNC 3 APIM Software (IVSU) Database - CyanLabs.

So I just ran it and it worked, no error message this time. I did the manual install and downloaded the autoinstall, ran it and the “Updating System Software” message popped up, after about five minutes it restarted and now the screen is lit, working but dark, not off or broken, just dark.

I have tried doing a soft-reset, also tried turning the truck off, opening the door and closing it, locking and waiting until the screen goes from dark to completely off and then trying again, it is stuck like that now. Let me know if you have any other steps I should try

You can toggle between Light and dark in the screen display settings, do those settings work?

That’s correct, but an odd result. By dark do you mean “low brightness” or “dark theme”?.

If it’s the first, try performing a master reset. If it’s the second one, have you ever changed the APIM as built in the past?.

I have not tried a master reset yet, and I honestly don’t know how to do that at the moment. If you have a resource I can check to follow the steps please let me know

So It’s kind of hard to explain but this is what happens once I turn the truck on:

Truck turns on
LCD Screen turns on, Ford logo appears and it moves, signaling that it works in full color and intent
LCD screen goes dark, it is still turned on as I can observe the screen being on, like a TV when nothing is playing yet.
No sounds are coming from the speakers, and the “Screen On/Off” button is non operational, as it used to work before applying the first (when the problem first appeared: I installed the update meant for the touch screens by mistake) and the second update (when I installed the correct update mentioned in my previous reply)
No buttons work, the only thing that does anything is a soft reset (power + seek track forward/right) which then brings us back to step (2)

Key notes:

the second update was installed after I had the wrong update installed into my system. This is when the “dark screen” issue began

No master reset has been done

No battery disconnect has been done

No fusebox main power cables disconnect has been done

I can’t really see anything in the screen and no sound comes from the speakers. The on/off screen button seemed to work before I did the last update, but now it doesnt and its just dark.

Oh also, the back up camera works when in Reverse and no I have never changed the APIM, this is all stock

Based on your latest description, you have a black screen, no image, just the backlight.
Do you have forscan and an adapter?, it’s time to see the APIM’s asbuilt.
