iPhone call volume very low in CarPlay and bluetooth

I successfully upgraded to the latest 3.4.23188 version using Syn 3 updater with no problems. The issue I’m experiencing started before upgrading from 3.0 to 3.4. The volume for phone calls only is very low (gain issue from what I’ve read). Everything else works perfectly. I’m wondering if this is a known issue or a problem specific to my car. I’ve tried all the suggested fixes I can find including changing cables, and the suggested iPhone settings, etc. iPhone 16 pro iOS 26.4.

Don't have it.

did you trying turning up the volume while on a call? There are 2 seperate volumes for the Radio and Blutooth.

Phone volume can also effect this.

Yes. I tried turning up the volume while on an active call using both the dial and the iPhone buttons. I’ve tried all their Siri fixes the setting adjustments I found from various sites and nothing corrects the volume of the phone calls. Ive read it’s a handshake audio gain issue but i cant find anyway to fix it.

The volume will adjust up and down, it’s just very weak even at max level.

Did you perform a master reset after doing the upgrade?

Yes

Have you tried using other phones with your system?

If you have tried other phones (android and iPhones) than yours on the system and get the same result, this is likely the unit. Especially since this started before the upgrade. If it works with android phones but not with iPhones then likely it is an iPhone issue. If it works with iPhones with the same IOS as yours, then it is your phone. If it works on iPhones with different IOS than yours but not ones with the same IOS as yours, then likely an IOS issue and the next update could fix it if Apple is aware of the issue.

I only have access to a different iPhone running an earlier version of iOS. Same issue. I agree it’s likely an iOS issue as it started after a previous update. I was hoping that the newest version of 3.4 would have a patch. For clarity, every other volume works correctly including maps alerts, Waze, Google Maps, Siri, music, podcasts, etc. it’s only phone call volume. My system does not have Bluetooth CarPlay only wired.

Interesting. So different iPhones and different IOS but same problem? I am starting to suspect your unit.

If you could borrow a friend’s android phone for testing would be ideal. Because if it gives you the same problem, it is your unit.

I will report back shortly.
