hello I’ve tried to update a sync 3 unit in my friends ford kuga as it became slow and unresponsive

I’ve tried multiple times to update it and retried with different versions as it keeps failing “error in …”

SYNC Region: EU

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20

Install Type: OEM

Old SYNC Version: 2.317109

New SYNC Version: 4.3

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?

Double check what you are setting up as there is no 4.3 version. Also use a quality USB stick.

Is that filename right, i have “5U5T-14G391-AT_1660763323000.TAR.GZ” in my SYNC downloads folder, is it a coincidence he has “5U51-146391-AT_1668763323000.TAR.GZ”??

I have tried various from the oldest all the way no newest and doesn’t like it

I can try again with a better usb if needed

In settings try to set download connections to 1 instead of 8, that works better for me to avoid network interruptions.
Get a good usb maybe 64 GB since you want to install EU Maps which are huge and Try to download sync 3.4 22110 + F13 map.

if I cannot successfully update it due to errors is there anyway to restore it to the “OEM” software?

Unfortunately “NO” once you reformat your APIM, cyanLabs can only help you get any sync version from 3.3 to 3.4
