Consider Sync3 as an OS.
You can change firmware as well for the APIM (or other modules), but it has nothing to do with Sync3.
I do not remember if there’s a specific warning or it explicitly says so.
But from the documentation this is shown as supported/required hardware:

Also, the 4 inches users compared to 8 inches are really small…
Does the site tell you which version is available for you?.
What kind of files do you get from Ford?. You said “corrupted files”, but do you have any file name or something?.
