Nav issues

I am having issues with my navigation not staying on track. My maps are showing me in a different area then vehicle is. This is something that just started after an update. Does anyone have the proper code for navigation tracking.

SYNC Region: NA

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: MY20

Install Type: OEM Replacement

Old SYNC Version: 3.4

New SYNC Version: 3.4

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?

Update Method: CyanLabs Manual Method

Have you done a Master Reset? What code are you asking for?

I did try master reset and no fix. Not sure what code I need but attaching pic of issue. My cursor is off track.

Since you have a retrofit this is more than likely a bad GPS antenna. Go into the test screens on your APIM and look for the GPS signal strength option. I would bet they are all low.

Here are my signals.

this is how I resolved my GPS issues after retrofitting a 2015 F150. Make sure to back up your original settings before making any changes, so you can revert them if needed.
the guide said "gps anteanna position and tire size data " now i didn’t see any changes on the tires but i did change my tire size with a tuner fyi

Before jumping down that path since he had a fully working retrofit…
What value is in 7D0-03-01: x*xx-xxxx-xxxx ?
0=roof mount antenna which has the least gain
1=dash mount which has a higher gain value

I have 01 for dashmount.

Those GPS levels are terrible.

Any suggestions. This is a replacement APIM unit and the existing nav antenna was working fine in last APIM unit.

Well…

  1. the “new” APIM could have a bad GPS connector
  2. Depending on how old the “new” APIM is you may need to downgrade the build, even if you had a true Ford antenna there are internal differences between 2017-2018 & 2019+. I’d step down to .21265 to see if it gets better. I’ve had cases where I did an upgrade of a 2016-2017 that were Sync 3 native to a K or higher APIM where I had to downgrade to 3.4.21194 before the APIM would “accept” the factory GPS antenna, after that .21265 was more stab;e that .23188.
  3. The GPS antenna is too weak in it’s current spot of the connector/cable was damaged during the APIM swap.

Your GPS signals should look like this…

As far as recommendations I have a few. Check to see if your antenna fell or is behind metal in the dash. When it comes to replacing stuff the Cheap antenna like you have now is cheap and easy to replace so if it were me I would start there. That also takes care of a new cable so would take that issue out.

It could be the APIM/GPS connector but that’s highly doubtful but possible.

Thank you for advice on this. I have tried a couple antennas and a couple code values changed as suggested with no success. I am new to all of this, how or where do I go to downgrade.

Use Cyanlabs updater with MY2020 protection turned on ans select the target version as 3.4.21265

Or you can build the USB yourself, as you did not indicate where you are located or the source market of the vehicle, pay attention to the build.
