Need Help – SYNC 2 Retrofit / No Volume Control / HD Radio Question (2015 F-150)

Hey everyone,
I’m working on a SYNC 2 retrofit on my 2015 Ford F-150.

VIN: 1FTEW1CP8FKE72513

Modules installed:

  • ACM: LR3T-19C107-FF

    • Build date: 09/2019 (L08 D)
  • APIM: GR26A / MC3T-14G370-ALD

    • Build date: 11-12-2021

Issues I’m having:

  • I cannot control the volume

  • HD Radio is enabled and shows blue (active), not gray

  • I want to confirm whether these modules actually support HD Radio or if it’s a configuration problem

I’m thinking this may be an As-Built / programming issue (FORScan).
If anyone can help confirm HD compatibility for these modules or share correct ACM/APIM As-Built values, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

The ACM will usually have an HD Radio trademark mention on the sticker if it has it……

Sounds like you have the AB value correct as it’s just the one setting.

The unit is non-HD.

Ford typically only used HD ACMs in the Ti trims (although it was an option on the 2012-2014 Focus), anything 2017 and newer with HD radio will have the blue A2B connector for use with the B&O or Sony DSP.

i have a a similar 2019 acm in my other f150 2015 its hd but it has nos hd logo and i can actually see the hd logo display and hear the station i dont really care about xm40 i just want over the air hd radio stations the only issue is that i cant control the volume

In which case why not use an FL3T-19C107-Mx series which would be a direct drop in ?

Funny thing about the HD radio function with the way it works.

If the donor ACM had the HD radio enabled prior to it being pulled it holds that setting even with a module reset or a new AB being uploaded, you will still be able to tune HD stations and sub stations. Having the button on the APIM doesn’t matter it just means you can’t toggle the function on/off.

Having the button enabled on the APIM and it NOT functioning means that the ACM doesn’t have the iBiquity tuner IC in the unit, it doesn’t require extra wiring.

testing that tonight

This has CD, SDARS, and HD Radio.

You will need to add the wiring for the SDARS to control this ACM properly.

It doesn’t matter if you just want to control SDARS, this radio has the new chipsets and is pinned differently than the Pre-X40 radios.

Make sure your ACM and APIM asbuilts have SDARS, HD Radio, and old message set configured for the new radio in your 2015 F-150. This is in 7D0-08-01.
