Hello, im new to all of this and am really confused. I have a 2015 facelift Ford Focus Titanium X wagon. I’ve installed the sync 3 that was precoded (sent seller my VIN). After installing i noticed a few slight problems.
No power to front USB port. Im guessing this is because the Apple carplay hub they sent me only had 1 usb a to plug in the bottom of it, the previous hub had 2… Please tell me if this is correct and if i can buy a different Apple carplay usb hub that will make my front port work.
No front parking sennsors?? The back ones work fine, camera works fine, but front ones arent working? Im guesing this can be coded in…
Ive noticed my sync 3 unit doesnt have all of the toys it should have. Theres no heated seats function on the screen despite having physical buttons and also, no setting to change the ambient lighting. Can Forscan fix/ add these functions?
p.s I have NO idea how to use Forscan or “code” but im going to try and learn after i buy a cheap laptop to plug Forscan in.

Also it asks “Did your SYNC 3 come as standard?” Its upgraded from sync 2, and was brought from Ali express (china) so not sure if its an original from another car or if replica…

Sorry, I’m so new to all of this sort of stuff so please excuse me. The front USB worked before i did the switch from sync 2 to 3 and before i switched the USB hub with the carplay one. So am i right in thinking the 2 USB mini A’s that plug into the bottom of the carplay USB hub have nothing to do with the front USB port not working? What can i do to get the front one working? May i add that the Carplay hub they provided has a 1x USB port + a USB C port.
How can the seller correct these? Would i have to send it back? it took a month to arrive from china to the UK so hoping to avoid sending it back if its something i can do at home?
I will dig out my old laptop and have a look on how to do these. Is there a guide/YouTube video you could recommend to guide me in doing this?
Yeah i thought that might be the case however this only cost me £220 and official ones were looking stupid money that i cant afford + reviews were good… The sync 3 itself works really good its just these minor problems I’d like to sort out.
The conversation I’ve had with the seller:
Me: My old usb hub has both ports for wires. the one you sent me only has one meaning i have no power to my front USB.
Seller: If the original vehicle configuration featured one USB port at the front and one at the rear, the upgrade will consolidate both ports into the rear location. Subsequently, the front parking sensors will not display their icons. This functionality can be reactivated by programming the Apim module data using the ELS327 programming cable included in the package and the Forscan software. Should you encounter difficulties with this procedure, please contact us for remote assistance.
Might be a dumb question but did you plug in the power adapter into your hub that adapts the old power connector to the new one?
Since you have two hubs, are you replacing the primary hub which has two USB plugs plugged into it or the secondary which has one USB plug plugged into it?
If you replaced the primary hub, then your secondary hub is inoperable. You can buy another carplay compatible hub that has the connections to make your secondary hub operational.
I have no solution for you other than send it back and buy from someone in the US. This could be a wiring issue, AB issue or a combination of many other things. Seems these Chinese sellers kits have the most problems.
I am sure they will try to remote into your PC while it is connected to your car to try and fix the AB issues. Hopefully they dont steal your info, install a virus or spyware.
The single USB port is usually a passthrough hub. The double USB hubs will not have this but will work just fine other than the satallite port will no longer work.(As jmbach said) If it is not powering right than it’s miss wired or bad.
I could list about 100 different scenarios to try and fix this with the details you have given.
