Hi. I appologise in advanced if I dont have all the info that you guys need, but im in a big pickle.
I did the manual upgrade from sync3.3 to 3.4.20237 using the reformat tool. My usb is in correct format, as ive used it couple of times before succesfully. (I played around with all the diffrent software versions ect)
It started with the reformat and loaded the apps package, right after that I get a redscreen woth the following message, “Error in Ford Southern Africa22Q4.tgz: PKG_ERR03”. Ive reloaded the file, used a diffrent usb stick, used the second usb port in my vehicle, to no avail. Pleae help me what can be the issue. My sync3 is a 2018 ROW region with navigation. I made sure I chose the correct options. Pulling the fuse to sync3 also doesnt help. Its stuck on the screen were it reformats the emmc. Load the apps and get to this error.
SYNC Region: ROW
Navigation Variant: Nav
Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20
Install Type: OEM
Old SYNC Version: 3.3.19052
New SYNC Version: 3.4.20237
Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
Error in Ford Southern Africa22Q4.tgz: PKG_ERR03
Im currently at work so tried the manual method while I was bored, as I cant install sync3 updater. Do you think if I just create a USB again via the app, if will come right? Will try it when I reach home tonight.
Most likely yes, besides creating what needs to be created, Syn3Updater checks the files on the USB as well while creating it. Just make sure to use a good quality pendrive.
EDIT
I’m back at home and when creating just update maps USB pendrive there’s a step that I think you missed, which reinforces my previous idea that you did not create the correct USB…

That should be fixed by creating it with Syn3updater, or you can correct it manually.

You can see that the archive file Ford_Southern_Africa22Q4.tgz must be extracted to produce the map and license files for installation. This is the autoinstall.lst file contents in the archive that would be used if you installed the map files independently from the reformat process…

Sync updater app fixed my issue thank you. never doing manual update again, it will give me a heart atrack.
If i look at the files now, the southafricanmap.tgz pacakage was extracted firts then put on the usb drive, not straight on the drive like the manual version sugested.
