reversing radar icon problem

Hello everyone,
the car icon on the reversing camera that indicates the position of obstacles when reversing has disappeared from the screen. Does anyone have any idea how to get it back?

Thanks, have a good day.
Frédéric

I’ve attached a photo of the screen.

If you have not done a master reset you should do that.

Yes, I did a factory reset, and I also disconnected the battery all night, and the icon did not reappear.

Hello.

Can you elaborate on tihs?

What does this mean exactly?. Your car was originally equipped with Sync3 and then you replaced just the APIM?.

Do you have Forscan and an adapter?

Hello, my car was equipped with a Sync 2 system and I replaced it with a used original Ford Sync 3 system.

I figured… that’s not an oem replacement, that’s a retrofit for converting Sync2 to Sync3 which includes programming.

Who did the programming?, you didn’t answer if you have forscan and an adapter.

t was pre-programmed, and I finished the programming with Forscan. So yes, I do have Forscan  I should also mention that the icon was there; I don’t understand why it disappeared. I wonder if the cables in the trunk might be damaged?

Time to re do the programming. Do you have a backup asbuilt from before upgrading Sync3 versions?. If so, install that and force a module reset.

If that does not work (or you do not have the backup), send a screenshot of the APIM asbuilt seen through Forscan.

It’s expected for some values to be reverted after a reformat, for example.

Here are the photos, thank you for your help.

I forgot to reply sorry, no I don’t have a backup.

That’s ok, but there’s no need to bump the thread. If you want to add information, just edit the message. I’ve merged your messages.

I can’t help with that since it’s outside my scope of knowledge, but maybe others will be able to help. Just be patient.

Okay, thank you for your help

Do you have the original Sync 2 asbuilt?

I hadn’t saved it, but I retrieved the file using my VIN from Ford Service Info.
If you can’t open the file, I can take screenshots.

Your first line of the APIM asbuilt should be : 7D0-01-01 4A6A 059A 305C
Reset the APIM once you write the values.

You had previously done other work on the Mustang. APIM and ACM swap…

Yes, I made those changes with your help. And I did modify 7D0-01-01 4A6A 059A 305C, but it didn’t change anything.

I just saw in the PAM database that modifications are required when replacing Sync 2 with Sync 3. My car’s PAM is still the same as the original; do I need to make any modifications?

Only if you have the latest PAM firmware. There is a value that will indicate Gen 3.
736-03-01 xxxx xx** xx
Increase the value to 18=OAT FCIMA, CAN None, APA Sync Gen 3 APIM.

Thank you for your help.

Oddly enough, I don’t have access to the update tab on Forscan (see photo). Therefore, I don’t know what the firmware version is. I’ve also attached a photo of the PAM profile.

Odds are your PAM is part of the BCM since you have a CGEA 1.3 network.

Okay, thanks, but what should I do? Sorry, I have very little knowledge in this area
