Several unsuccessful attempts updating SYNC 3

I own a 2016 Ford Escape SE and have been trying to update my SYNC, which is currently on the 3.1.15139 version, to the 3.4 in order to get Apple Carplay. I have used the SYNC 3 updater tool and have also done the manual method. However, everytime I plug the USB into the hub, I get a message that reads as “Invalid or Unsigned File: Your installation package may have corrupted, the package signature may have failed or the signature may have been revoked.”

I have tried using updating to version 2.2 first and that also produced the same message. I though it could have been the USB I was using but after trying 3 different ones I have had no luck, and like I mentioned earlier, I have also tried using both the updater tool and the manual method, I even tried downloading the download directly from the ford website but have continously been unsuccessful. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on or how I could troubleshoot this? Thanks!

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
“Invalid or Unsigned File”

You say that you were able to update the unit to Sync 3 version 2.2. If this is true then it is an issue with your USB to upgrade to Sync 3.4. Make sure you are using the correct files and that they are named exactly the same in the autoinstall and reformat.lst files.
