Sound problem with waze or google maps sync3 version 3.4

Hello everyone,
I’m new to the forum. I just replaced my Sync2 with a Sync3 in a 2016 Mustang.
Everything works fine except when I use the Waze app in Android Auto.
That is, Waze displays correctly, but the voice guidance audio doesn’t work through the car speakers. However, all the settings are correct and the audio is enabled in the app. I tried with Google Maps and got the same result: no audio through the speakers.
I updated the system again (Sync3 version 3.4) and nothing changes.
I think the APIM is misconfigured, and the USB audio isn’t working between my Samsung A53 5G phone and the car’s stereo.
I’d like to know if anyone knows which module to modify and what settings to use.

Plug a thumb drive with music to test the USB port. If that works the issue is likely your phone.

I just tested it, and the music works on the USB drive. However, when I increase the volume from the steering wheel, the volume pie chart stays at zero. Isn’t that strange?

I also tested with my wife’s phone Samsung Galaxy A52 and I have the same problem, both phones working well in her car (Toyota Yaris)

If the audio controls on the wheel work for other uses its doubtful its an APIM config issue.

Try another model Android phone with a new good quality cable, if it works, try your phone with the same cable. If it works try your phone with that cable.
If you still have an issue delete the vehicle from the AA vehicles in your phone, delete the BT pairing from the phone and the car, then pair the phone & the car again before plugging in the cable for AA to pick up the phone.
If the issue continues the kit you got more than likely has a knockoff USB media hub rather than a true Ford part, is this a dual USB A unit, a single USB A with the 2nd port on a cable or a USB A/C module?

Hello, and thank you for your help.
The steering wheel controls work, but the volume indicator remains stuck at zero.
The USB hub is an A port with a single port. I’ve already tried another phone and got the same result.
I also think the USB hub is original Ford. I’ll try to attach photos as well as the APIM scan.

Do you have a Sony DSP, or other in the vehicle?
You have Flank Guard turned on, 2016 Mustang will not support this unless you have modified the PDC structure.
You have changed out the ACM from NA to EU?
Can you please post your ACM asbuilt?

Yes, I do have Flank Guard, but only on the rear. My car is from Germany.
How do I know about the Sony DSP? I’ve only had the car for a month.

In the ACM, your front and rear speakers are set for:
727-01-01 xx*x xxxx xxxx
5=Front: External Variable, Rear: External Variable

This tells me you have external amps, probably the Mach system offered in the Mustangs, or similar. It’s not Sony DSP. In the APIM, you will need to tell it that you have an external amplifier, but not a DSP, which it is set to now.

7D0-01-01 *xxx xxxx xxxx
Change 8B6A to 0B6A
This will disable the APIM expecting audio adjustment feedback from the DSP or amplifiers.
You will likely have to power cycle the APIM (reboot).
