Strange error. Update/Downgrade not working

Thanks F150chief for the tricks.
Let me try and update the status.

Diego,

Try the procedure directly above to reduce the size of the voice file. The unit needs more storage to process the downgrade.

F150chief you are my idol, when I did the voice command theme I fixed the problem that I had that he spoke to me in another language. I am already fixed. I’ll see if I can downgrade it later, but what interested me was that the language was perfect, just thank you

Could you please run the APIM utility again and post the storage data before you do the downgrade? I would like to see what the storage looks like now.

Thanks, Diego

F150chief this is what you want me to post? Now I can downgrade without any problem?

Well, this worked. Changing out the Voice file for a NAV version file freed up significant storage. You should not have an issue running the downgrade and update to 3.4.20196.

Just follow the SYN3 Updater instructions and it should work…

@anutta_anuttaro this is where you need to get to be able to upgrade.

F150chief, I have to repeat it to you, you are my idol, I could downgrade it now, I just need to update it, which version do you recommend for the sync that I have with little space

All of the Sync 3.4 versions are close to the same size. The thing that made the difference here is the VOICE file. We installed the voice file for a NAV unit on a NON-NAV system. The NAV app voice is less than half the size of the NON-NAV counterpart. It also fixed your language.

Now that you have 2.3GB available, let’s try to go directly to 3.4.20196. To install 3.4.20196, use the below script and replace the filename. If this does not work, then downgrade and follow the path below…

Summary

So the next step for you is to downgrade. Do this separately from the upgrade to 3.4.20196. Remember, we are NOT installing maps so you DO NOT need to do the reformatter.

Download 4U5T-14G381-AN_1552583626000.TAR.GZ.
The file can be found in the APIM IVSU Database.

Follow the instructions below:

  1. Create a USB drive (format as EXFAT) with a SyncMyRide folder.
  2. Copy the file downloaded above into the SyncMyRide folder.
  3. In the root of the USB is the autoinstall.lst and DONTINDX.MSA files which you can obtain from any upgrade you previously performed.
  4. You will need to edit the autoinstall.lst file so it looks like the example below:

[SYNCGen3.0_ALL]
Item1 = 4U5T-14G381-AN_1552583626000.TAR.GZ
Open1 = SyncMyRide\4U5T-14G381-AN_1552583626000.TAR.GZ
Options = AutoInstall

  1. Insert USB in vehicle and wait for the installation to complete. You may see a message indicating completion. The unit should reboot.

This should force a downgrade to 3.3.19052 and then you will be able to upgrade using the Syn3 Updater app from 3.3.19052 to 3.4.20196.

To install 3.4.20196, use the above script and replace the filename.

Hi F150chief,
Still no luck to release the storage by updating the voice file - [5U5T-14G391-CL].
I will try to update with smaller size voice file - [5U5T-14G391-EM]

Could you post your new storage data…

Hello, what is the app to see the storage space of the apim?

This is the same as the original xml file. The voice file is still the same, so the NA voice file failed to install. You might want to try that again. If you can get the voice file installed, and the β€œ/fs/Nuance/” partition shrinks to about 450MB, you might recover enough space to perform a downgrade to 3.3.19052. If the voice file fails to install, there is no solution that I know to fix this with software thru the USB.

when i try to do this i get MEM_ERR03 what can I do ?

these is what I am trying to do
[SYNCGen3.0_ALL]

Is this a NON-NAV unit or do you have maps? If you do not have maps, please read this thread…

Basically my car is without maps but I added it after the update to 3.4.20136
my vehicle is f150 xlt 2018

I have LST_ERR07

LST_ERR07 – Error is LST_ERR_NO_OPEN1_PARAM

Looking at the autoinstall.lst above, you only have a voice file installing, no app file. What are you trying to do? Are you upgrading to a new Sync version?

Is your car originally without maps, or did you upgrade the APIM with NAV? We need more information to help you…

My Sync version is 3.4.20136 I am trying to update my sync to the new version 20237 but when I try to update the screen keep telling me System update in progress for 30 minutes and it doesn’t work
My car originally with out NAV but when I update to 20136 i add NAV

You cannot upgrade a non-nav module to nav, there is not enough space. It sounds like you have filled up your APIM and its caused this issue.

Run the APIM interrogator mentioned in this thread:
