I am currently in 3.4 19274 and I tried to downgrade by using “Syn 3 Updater”. From the application, I followed the step and files were automatically installed on my USB. Then, I put my USB into the car and drove about 40 minutes but the screen only showed “updating the software”………… What can I do? Thanks

Try updating just the apps package, if that doesn’t work i will implement a “force downgrade” mode which will get you sorted, but no ETA

This is a non-nav unit? Do you need to delete Gracenotes first, then downgrade? Probably no memory to do anything with 3.4 already on the unit.
Please try using the new “Install Mode” option on 1.0.1.0, change it to Downgrade and try that way.

Did you try performing a master reset and then the downgrade?
Seems you don’ have even enough storage space left to install 3.3, reformat and install full 3.3
Not sure what other options you have to be honest.

Fine, thanks anyway. I think updating to 3.4 20196 will also be hard, ha ha. There seems to be issues of flickering on sync 3.4 above build 19101 with no option of deselecting auotbrightness, right? That’s why I want to go back to older version. Still no solutions to flickering issues?

To remove gracenotes manually, you will need a new Autoinstall.lst file. Save your original autoinstall file and make a new one on the usb. The contents will be this: (You can only have 1 autoinstall file on the disk.)

You should have this file already on the drive based on the log file above. Keep the rest of the files on the drive as is.
This will only takes a few minutes, if that. Do a Master Reset to reboot the unit to free the storage. Make sure the unit works, you should see that Gracenotes info does not populate on the Information screen.
Once that is done, now make another new autoinstall.lst file to downgrade to 3.3.19052. Save the other one off the disk. (You can only have 1 autoinstall file on the disk.)

This will take about 15-20 minutes. Do not remove the usb until the message appears to do so. Turn off the car and restart or do a Master Reset to reboot the unit.
This should boot as 3.3.19052. See if you can get the Sync unit this far. If so, we can update to 3.4, but don’t do that yet.
