Sync 1 to Sync 3 Help

I’m upgrading my 2018 Ford F-150 XLT from Sync 1 (4”) to Sync 3 (8”). My truck originally came with the small screen, but I now have the APIM and 8” screen from a 2018 XLT donor. I also ordered the conversion harness, and the A/C controls came with the donor screen.

My question is: after I install everything, which file should I load on the APIM — the donor’s as-built data or my truck’s? Also, are there any additional changes I’ll need to make with Forscan?

Mainly stay with your asbuilt for the truck but some minor changes. Save the donor APIM asbuilt just in case before you change anything. You should be able to install the new APIM and screen and it should just come up and work, but may need to make changes due to trim level, etc.
