I’ve just completed a retrofit of Sync 3 into a 2017 Tourneo Connect (manual A/C) to replace factory Sync 1.
Having read a lot of guides on Focus and other cars, I was expecting to have to code the APIM. However, everything works without coding, including navigation.
The only thing that doesn’t work is the voice button on the steering wheel - my voice is not recognised. However, in Android Auto it works fine.
Questions…
- Do I absolutely have to code it? Given that (nearly) everything works, is it worth the effort? What are the benefits and risks?
- I’ve checked and AB file vs my own and there are some differences in other modules. If I load a full AB file into the APIM in forscan, does it effectively ignore addresses from other modules?
- If I don’t update AB, will there be any issues updating to Sync 3.4?
