Sync 3.0.202040 wont update

my Sync system wont update thru usb or by wifi tried using update from ford using USB and nothing happens
used Syn3Updater and once USB is set the car keeps saying an Installation Paused message

Also Carplay will not connect with my phone wired tried master reset and soft reset and nothing works

From memory, all those kind of scenarios did not get solved by other than changing the APIM.

You could try a different USB pendrive, but the one you are using is from a good brand already…

Remove the file PU5T-14G386-BB_1690840002000.TAR.GZ and try the procedure.

LST_ERR05 – Error is LST_PKG_FILE_NOT_FOUND

You need to take the file call out of the installation file also. Edit your AUTOINSTALL.LST file to look like this:

ok did that and now it just keeps saying Installation Paused every time I insert USB

Try a different USB drive if you have not done so. Have you performed a master reset?

Question, Since you’re on Sync 3.0, why not just reformat your pre MY20 APIM to sync 3.4 given using Ford’s update is already causing problems and also ford’s updates are outdated.

Offtopic but cool profile pic, bllet club was a great faction in NJPW, great memories.

I wasnt even sure of if it could go to 3.4 but i am going to try it now

its just been very frustrating and confusing why it wouldnt even update to the lower versions

Yes you can actually and sync 3.4 is really nice. Before you upgrade to 3.4 try to do use interrogator method and send you log/results here that way guys can help you incase anything wrong happens.

i tried to use the interrogator method and once i plug usb in I always get the Installation Paused message.

Also same with the Sync 4 update got the Installation Paused message

interesting, how many usb ports do you have? If you have more than 1 try another one. If nothing changes I really think your usb drive is faulty, find another. If that doesn’t work then we can look into other solutions but I think the first two should work

Also what do you mean sync4 updater?

I used a couple different usb sticks have two different ports in the car I have tried to use both and same issue happens

The phone connects when plugged in it will do the CarPlay setup but nothing happens after that

I can use my phone as a usb plugin or on Bluetooth but it won’t connect to Carplay

The even weird thing is CarPlay will connect to my Wife’s phone and we have the same phone same updates on it

You know what? Let’s try this. Can you load music into one of your usb ports and try to play music from the usb drive via APIM? Really interested to know what happens since music files are light and shouldn’t cause any issues

If songs won’t play then your APIM might be bugged

Exactly. Seems like the APIM is on it’s way out, probably memory block failure which would cause the symptoms displayed here.
