Hey there,
So I have a 2017 F150 Raptor that originally had the 4" sync2, upgraded to the Sync 3 through an Ebay seller about 5 years ago, and then recently switched to the carabc 12" lincoln sync 3 screen Which requires the 3.4 update to my APIM.
My APIM was luckily from a 2019 vehicle, so the update was smooth and only took 8 minutes to complete! Everything on the screen is functional and the controls all working perfectly except for the volume knob button on the console. The steering wheel control do work as an alternative though.
I Also do have a Forscan and changed my splash screen to Raptor (from the Navigator animation) overall really happy minus the volume knob issue.
Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?
My Raptor is a base model (similar to U.S gov spec, fabric interior manual everything)
SYNC Region: ROW
Navigation Variant: Nav
Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20
Install Type: Retrofit
Old SYNC Version: 3.0.20204
New SYNC Version: 3.4.20220
Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
No error
Other than the volume knob, do the other buttons and knobs on the panel work properly? The Carabc kits replaces the FCIM frame with a different version, using your controls which are transferred. So, minus an issue with the APIM asbuilt it would likely be an issue with the installation and/or connections.
I suggest you reload your entire asbuilt with FORScan and then perform a Master Reset of the APIM. After that run the Interrogator Utility and post the xml here.
Also, you really should update your Sync version to 3.4.23188.
Correct, all the oem stuff has moved over, every other button works including the power/off button which is the center of the knob. I took it apart and reinstalled just to make sure all was tripple checked and it does have the same issue.
I did the master reset through the screen and still have the same issue.
With FORScan, go to the APIM asbuilt configuration tab, use the load all button on the bottom of the page and select your backup file from there, then write the info to the APIM. It might tell you there is no changes, write the info anyways.
