No install the USB with your map update… it will install and reboot and don’t touch the USB. it will automatically restart where it left off the install… this takes 4 reboot and around 2-3 hours and it will write if its finish and it will not do anything more… if you unplug the USB and reinstall it it will begin from start again and you never will get the udpate finish 
Well, mine is relative new (2020 Explorer and 2021 Explorer). So, is it just guessing with “new cars”?
Will we be able to Only Update Maps for the latest ROW release? or this requires the currently unfounded license file?
Currently the only available option is 2020Q4 from last year.

Depends if we can find the license file
Sync 3; Non Navigation; ROW (India) ;
- Updated to 3.4.22110 from 3.4.22048 through auto Downgrade reformat method.
- Replaced the voice package by small NA voice package to empty storage for Gracenotes installation
- Then installed Gracenotes for ROW
- Ran the Interrogator log empty space left is 1.1 GB
- Now I want to reinstall the ROW voice package which is of 1.36 GB
- Can I reduce the size of ROW voice package by selecting only English language India or UK ?
- Even if size of voice package is reduced, is it possible to install the same on leftout space of 1.1 GB

Regarding the bug of phone button while using carplay now even I downgraded to other version 3.4 still happening…
I update back to sync 3.3 and work well but now any version of sync 3.4 the trouble will come back
did you master reset? if not then this means nothing unfortunately.

Surely, master reset is first step when we update software.
Now only sync 3.3 is working well with phone button direct to carplay
All sync 3.4 will lead to Bluetooth pair screen even the phone had connect and using carplay well
I dont really see how this is possible, any one else confirm similiar outcome?

While I can’t confirm it, there is a chance, that this Bug is also present in 22020 and 22048 as there were some USB/BT related changes which made it into this release.
Last Build I know this 100% works is 21265.

You cannot place Gracenote on a NON-NAV 8GB APIM with Sync 3.4 and the regional voice package for ROW.

The files above total 3.154 GB COMPRESSED, which is more than the storage available anyways. Uncompressed, the files will take about 4.7 GB of space.
Just updated from 21265 to this. apps package only. No problems so far.
Just updated after returning from vacation. No issues to speak of so far. Straightforward downgrade moving from 22048 and adding NA 221 maps. Format step took about 25 minutes or so on my cheap Microcenter USB 3 flash drive.
Just confirmed 21265 ran as normal as your mentioned

Can I install the F11 maps without updating the system? I have an “aftermarket” camera, which only ran up to one version. I would hate to update the system, just the maps. Is that possible because of other language packs?

if you are EU and not My20 Reformat is best option, just reformat back to 3.3/3.4 version that worked.

Went from 21194 to 22110 on a US 2016 Fiesta ST with Nav. Took 25 minutes.

Just to be sure, I have a 2021 Explorer. Can I update this? I’m a little confused by the MY20 stuff. Is the known issues only for model year 2020, or any year after 2020? Thanks!
