Sync 3.4.22251 - Feedback & Issues - Archived Replies

English please

Like some others I am experiencing occasional ā€œUSB Device not recognisedā€ messages when connecting phone for Android Auto. I acknowledge the message and all seems well. This might have coincided with an update to Android 13 but I canā€™t be sure.

Use a different cable, AA is notorious for having cable issues.

Since updating to 3.4.22251 from 3.0, my reverse camera is extremely dim. everything else works great but that. I have found a response on another thread saying to downgrade to 3.4.19101 which I subsequently did and found this helped, however is there any way to use the latest version without the camera issue.

I remember many users with your exact model to have the exact same issue, no solution was found other than staying on older builds.

Thanks for reply  I guess Iā€™ll have to see if there are any changes in later builds. I enjoyed the few ui enhancements on the latest version

Later 3.4 builds are just more stable, nothing more than that.
So what you have available even on a earlier build, itā€™s basically the same.
But of course you are free to try different builds, going back and forth between sync3 versions is easy and fast (without changing maps)

Hello!
I need help. I updated my Sync3 to Version 3.4 Build 22251.
However, during the download, I was not able to click the map to update. When I started the car, the system was successfully updated to the latest version. But the navigation was blank.

I re-tried to update the ā€œmaps onlyā€ selection in the updater and have it downloaded. After the maps only was downloaded, when I inserted the USB to the port of my car, nothing is happening. Itā€™s not updating or uploading the map even if I waited for a good 5 minutes hoping the system can detect the map files from the USB.

I did a ā€œMaster Resetā€ to restore to Factory Settings, The system seems to restore with a message restoring to factory default settings. But after awhile, the system still rebooted to the latest software version and not to the desired factory default. Tried it several times and still returned to the latest updated version.

I have a Ford Everest 2018 3.2 li 4WD (Manufactured in Thailand). I am from the Philippines

Appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Charlie

Master reset will NOT revert any software, only default configuration. Did you select with NAV in the updater. If you continued with an installation that you knew was in error then thatā€™s on you.

Just in case anyone is wonderingā€¦

Finally got the server side update for Coolwalk in Android Auto. It is working fine with this build. Didnā€™t expect it not to, but some may wonder.

Itā€™s good to know, Iā€™m still running 3.0 and coolwalk works too without any issues. I miss the weather icon thoughā€¦

Android Auto Coolwalk working for anyone? - Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans

Itā€™s a server side switch not related to sync at all.

Agreed, in my case it was activated during the day. I took the car out at around 12pm, no coolwalk. I drove again at around 16-17pm, coolwalk activated without me doing anything. And Iā€™m running 3.0ā€¦
So as long as Android Auto works, Coolwalk will work.

Coolwalk just started working for me. I like the new layout and the re-positioning of the info icons to the bottom.

Hi folks,

Just updated our U.S. '16 C-Max Energi to 22251. All is well. Works like a champ! Thank you.

The only issue Iā€™ve seen that Iā€™ve not run across in these forums is:

At Sync startup, I get a message stating that ā€œUSB Hub is Not Supported. Please Disconnectā€.

The two USB ports in the center storage cubby still work just fine. USB drives are recognized, Android Auto works just fine. I just canā€™t figure out how to rectify this odd message.

Thanks.

Best Regards,

Tom

That message is because your USB hub is not compatible with Apple Carplay. You donā€™t use it so you should be fine. To fix it just get a newer USB hub.

You need to change your USB hub, the one you have is old. Android Auto will work, Car Play wonā€™t.

Thereā€™s no way to get rid of that message other than changing the USB hub.

Ahh yes. I remember now when we bought the car there was much hubbub around whether Ford was going to actually upgrade the hub for IOS users at no charge or not.

We only use Android, so it didnā€™t really matter to meā€¦

Thanks to all for the prompt responses!

Best Regards,

Tom

FYI: There is a JB mod that will remove the message.
