Load Factory Asbuilt.

That worked and is super easy, there’s literally a button called Load Factory Asbuilt. Clock is now working as it should.

Most excellent! Glad to help.

I have a MY17 Focus RS, here is my experience with 3.4.23188.
I believe the dealer updated me to .22251 last service as they said they did an update, shortly after I began having the known issues related to storing settings.
Decided to update from Sync 3.4.22251 to 3.4.23188.
Update went smoothly however my ambient temperature was reading in the negatives (-18C) was consistent even after a 10 min drive, master reset, battery disconnect no change.
Most annoying part is the the external temperature reading effects AC operation, was 27C outside but as the car thought it was -18c the AC was not cold.
Moved back to previous known good version via auto update, 3.4.21265, keeping latest maps, after a 5 minutes driving with the AC on the temperature began to rise all the way to 27C and the AC was ice cold again.

I don’'t now and never have had that issue with 23188 in my RS in the UK

Yeah i dont know if mine was an isolated issue, or maybe if i persisted with x.23188 the temperature would have come good but thought its worth posting just in case others have the issue

That’s a known thing with the Focus RS, nothing to do with the software upgrade. I had it happen on mine long before I did anything with the software, and discovered via the focusrsoc website that I wasn’t alone! Happens occasionally, and soon recovers.

Official word on it:

Outside Air Temperature Display

The Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) sensor provides the Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) data used for the outside air temperature display in the IPC. The ambient air temperature sensor is hardwired to the PCMthrough separate input and return circuits. The PCMprovides a reference voltage to the ambient air temperature sensor and monitors the change in voltage resulting from changes in resistance as determined by outside air temperature. The PCMfilters the ambient air temperature input and sends the BCMthe air ambient temperature filtered message. The BCMsends the air ambient temperature filtered message to the IPC.

Due to the location of the Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) sensor in the RHexterior mirror area it is greatly influenced by heat generated from inside the mirror. For this reason the outside air temperature value displayed in the IPCdoes not update in the upward (hotter) direction under 33 km/h (20 mph). This update strategy is used because the PCMis unable to determine whether the increase in temperature is truly from an ambient temperature rise or by heat generated from inside the mirror.

The outside air temperature display in the IPCupdates in the upward (hotter) direction under either of the following situations:

if the vehicle is driven over 33 km/h (20 mph) continuously without the vehicle speed dropping below 33 km/h (20 mph) for approximately 90 seconds. if the vehicle is allowed to sit with the engine off for approximately 6 hours (the outside air temperature display in the IPCimmediately updates to reflect the current ambient conditions since the engine has cooled sufficiently and no longer has an effect on the outside air temperature sensor reading). NOTE:If the vehicle speed drops below 33 km/h (20 mph) before the outside air temperature display in the IPCbegins to update the PCMlogic resets and the time starts over.

Because this filtering strategy exists, it may be necessary to drive the vehicle continuously above 33 km/h (20 mph) for approximately 90 seconds when observing the outside air temperature display operation. After the vehicle has been driven above 33 km/h (20 mph) for 90 seconds, the outside air temperature display in the IPCshould start to filter upward toward the actual outside air temperature. Depending on the difference between what the outside air temperature is displaying in the IPCand the actual outside temperature it can take several minutes for the outside air temperature display in the IPCto reach the outside temp.

The outside air temperature display in the IPCdoes not filter in the downward (colder) direction and always displays the coldest temperature detected by the sensor even when the vehicle is stationary. When the outside Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) is lower than the temperature displayed in the IPC, the IPCimmediately updates the displayed temperature downward to reflect the colder ambient air temperature, even at idle.

There ya go, thank you for that info

Brilliant strategy!! What’s the average speed around a city these days?

 Exactly!

Where did you find that info, that’s the sort of place i’d spend days binge reading in.

@Rollback_Jockey It’s in Oasis.

I know we are getting off topic, but is oasis only accessible to employee or can you get access outside the ford world, dare i ask free access?

You can buy 72 hours of access for $26. You can buy further access but it costs a lot more.

I found it on https://www.focusrsoc.com/forums/focus-rs-mk3-discussion.402/

Lots of good info there.

Hi , maybe a stupid question but here goes ! I am currently on Fords sync 3.4 23188 official version , is this version different/better and can i install this over my official version ?

23188 IS an official version, seems to have most of the bugs ironed out.

Thanks for this update, It’s the first time I updated Sync3 on my Ford Focus 2018.
It does have a small bug. The clock in Sync3 keeps changing to a wrong hour. And ā€œreset to GPS timeā€ does not work anymore since I updated. I did a master reset. I’m posting to let people know and maybe the clock will be fixed in the future.

That’s a known issue that some non-nav users experience in the latest builds.
You can try installing 3.4.21265, which was known to be super stable.
That should fix your issue.

Hello,
Why is the update stuck at version 3.4.23188?
Will there be a new update?
I would be happy if you could provide information.
Thanks.
