I recently performed the Sync 3.4 and Navigation update from 3.0
Really happy with all most everything, My ambient lighting only works with key off door open , once I start the engine lights dim away. The ambient selection is in settings but when it opens all light colors in circles are there but you not change anything. The colours or changing the brightness.
I have followed everything that has been on this topic in past posts. I did the reset. I did 5he master reset. I changed everything back to factory in FORScan Then performed another master reset. Nothing is helping.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The Ambient Lighting feature was included with the 2017 Lariat’s optional Ultimate trim package, which was only available on the crew cab model.
It is possible that the APIM and BCM need to be reset. This can be done in FORScan. Also, if you performed asbuilt changes like returning modules to factory you should always reset the module. The APIM shows the controls for the ambient lighting, but when you try to adjust the controls do they snap back. Are the lights on or set to auto?
Do the Ambient lights work when the Truck lights are on and it’s dark out? This was a change that was made. They don’t work during the daytime as you can’t see them anyways. This helped the lights last longer.
They are clearly working or they would not come on when you open the doors.
Yes I tried them at night in the dark. Headlight switch doesn’t matter if it is on auto or in the on position same result. When I started using FORScan 1 1/2 years ago before making any adjustments or changes I went into each module and saved as built After the update to 3.4 having this issue I went back into FORScan and changed all my modules back to orginal settings and performed a reset.
I wanted to add another issue that started after the sync update. My FordPass app doesn’t always connect like it did prior to update I have to cycle the key
There’s something you could try, that’s easy: try going back to 3.3.19xxxx.
You do not need to reformat if you keep your existing maps, then master reset and check if things get better.
It was worth the shot, because 3.3.xxxxx is the closest to 3.0’s functionality and look&feel.
I’m also wondering if your vehicle is stock, or if there’s been some replacements in the past.
Another thing to consider is that maybe the upgrade / master reset reverted some values back, but the happens when the unit is not stock.
