Hello! I’ve been racking my brains trying to find the right solution; maybe someone with more knowledge can help.
What are the differences between the APIM 14G370 and 14G371? Should I look at specific models? Are some models better equipped, or is the one with navigation and 64GB the best option in any configuration? And is the year is important?
MY MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION: can I connect multiple hubs to the versions with two USB connectors on the APIM, or are they just two outputs to one hub?
I have Fiesta 2012 restyling.

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: Unknown

Install Type: Retrofit

14G370 is the assembly (screen + APIM), 14G371 is just the APIM.

Generally speaking, a late not MY20 is desired to avoid the risk of bricking a MY20 model by reformatting it. (Which can be avoided if jailbroken as well)

Get a 64gb one if for EU NAV, a 32GB one for NA NAV or 16GB for non-nav.

Yes, avoid MY20 hardware if possible. If you are in the EU, you can install maps without reformatting, but it takes “ages”… It’s faster and cleaner to reformat the unit, which you can’t do on MY20 APIMs

So there no any differences in overall performance between -My20 and +My20 and things like support of climate controlled seats e.t.c?

Not necessarily, that depends on the calibration (firmware) and what your vehicle has. Just avoid ancient G series APIMs, if you get a J/K series APIM which is not MY20 “it’s the same” as getting an L series one, which is MY20…

About performance, lastest APIMs are more capable than the old ones (like most tech stuff is)… So again, with a J/K not MY20 one you should be fine.

You only have one port on the APIM to use, hence the reason the 2nd was deleted on later models of the APIM.

I have been able to get 3 working ports with the combination of HS7Z19A387R & HC3Z19A387F by going from the APIM to the single port module and then using the port on the module which is intended for a USB extension cable as an uplink to the 2 port module (you have to provide power in addition to the USB).

So i can use then two usb drives and one Android Auto?

I use that specific combination with 1 AA and 2 USB flash drives.

I want some clarification, what does J and K means when i search the APIM? What should i look for?

The 1st letter of the model describes the series… and gives (more or less) the production year…
L series 2020, K series 2019, J series 2018… But always check if it’s MY20 or not with the app or via SYNC 3 APIM Hardware Database - CyanLabs

For example KU5T-14G371-GFA which letter represent this? This APIM from mid 2019 from Fiesta.

Although I should have said “1st character”, since some of them do not have a letter but a number…

You can enable the second port on the older APIM’s but you still only have 1 amp of power available. It’s not in the asbuilt, but a hardware feature of the older APIM’s.
