Sync 3 error while updating insert stick drive

Hey guy’s I really need help here .
I was updating my sync 3 to 3.4 via usb in middle of updating screen was red with error message on the car screen I did took off the usb plug in back in the laptop and tried to download the update again to usb but it keep asking me for XML file but I don’t have the XML file at this moment it got deleted somehow during the install and now my radio screen frozen on screen asking to insert stick drive once I do that it shows package file not found. So please I need your guy’s help what I can do now I did disconnect the battery and still showing same screen

what error message? saying “a red screen with an error message” means nothing to us

For some reason you are telling Syn3 Updater you have a MY20 APIM hence why it’s asking for a XML file

Are you sure your APIM is navigation enabled? AA / Car Play doesn’t count. most common causes of a error is due to bad USB, navigation on non nav, converting to a region which is larger than the one it came with from factory and therefore running out of storage space.

Like i said it’s asking for a XML file because you are saying you have a MY20 APIM

You seem to have made this in to a right mess, follow our documentation from the start and if you get the same red screen in the car tell us the error message

PKG_ERR03 = couldn’t find the package it’s looking for, either you have multiple USB devices plugged in, you are using a unbranded crap USB device or you are using a USB device with powersaving features such as a USB HardDrive

No idea what a Pretec UltimateGuard USB Device but googling suggests they arent’ very highly rated, use a decent quality branded USB 3.0 drive.

Actually this is just showing the same thing, see the timer… it’s not ever restarted.

Syn3 updater stores the downloads in your chosen download folder, there won’t be any need to redownload it but you should re-run the same process in Syn3 Updater, again making sure that your Current Sync version is correctly set to anything below 3.2, such as your old version of 3.0.20204

Yes but your current version is sync 3.0.xxxxx in the “Current Version” section of the options, you need to ensure this is correct
